configure-gcs

configure-gcs is a command for coding agents from rohitg00/awesome-claude-code-toolkit. It costs 16 tokens per session (312 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A command for creating and securing a Google Cloud Storage bucket, which is an online container for files and other objects. It configures storage location, access, encryption, retention, and notifications.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to configure buckets for files, websites, backups, or data lakes; set lifecycle rules and versioning; add CORS and Pub/Sub notifications; and generate Terraform or gcloud commands.
Why use it?
It helps prevent overly broad access, unsuitable storage costs, accidental data loss, and inconsistent bucket settings.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00016 $0.00312
Opus 5 $0.00008 $0.00156
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00062
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00031

Security

Grade A, and why

configure-gcs scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

/configure-gcs - Configure Google Cloud Storage

Create and configure a GCS bucket with proper security settings.

Steps

  1. Ask the user for the bucket purpose: storage, hosting, backups, data lake
  2. Choose the storage class: Standard, Nearline, Coldline, or Archive based on access patterns
  3. Select the location: region, dual-region, or multi-region based on requirements
  4. Configure uniform bucket-level access (recommended over ACLs)
  5. Set up default encryption with Google-managed or customer-managed keys
  6. Configure lifecycle rules: transition to cheaper storage classes, delete old objects
  7. Enable object versioning for data protection
  8. Set up CORS configuration for web application access
  9. Configure IAM bindings with least-privilege access for service accounts
  10. Set up Pub/Sub notifications for object change events if needed
  11. Generate the Terraform or gcloud commands for bucket creation
  12. Document: bucket name, location, storage class, lifecycle rules, access policy

Rules

  • Always enable uniform bucket-level access over legacy ACLs
  • Choose the storage class based on actual access frequency
  • Enable versioning for buckets containing important or user-generated data
  • Set lifecycle rules to transition to cheaper storage after access decreases
  • Use customer-managed encryption keys for sensitive data
  • Configure retention policies for compliance requirements
  • Avoid public access unless serving static website content
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
