ai-code-graph: Command for Claude Code

.claude/commands/cg/token-search.md

token-search is a command for Claude Code from sakrut/ai-code-graph. It costs 0 tokens per session (153 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A fallback code search command that finds textually similar code by comparing the words in your query with words in the code. It uses a previously built code database.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to find methods or other code related to a phrase, review the closest matches, and identify which results best fit your question.
Why use it?
It helps when the usual graph-based search finds nothing or when you need a less exact, fuzzy match. Without the database, it cannot search until the project is analyzed.

This is sakrut/ai-code-graph's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on ai-code-graph itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything ai-code-graph configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00153
Opus 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00061
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00031
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00015

Measured 1mo ago against content hash 715261236f39, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

token-search scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Search code by token overlap: $ARGUMENTS

Note: For most use cases, use /cg:query instead for graph-based retrieval (faster, deterministic). Use token-search as a fallback when query returns no results or when you need fuzzy text matching.

Steps:

  1. Run ai-code-graph token-search "$ARGUMENTS" --top 10 --db ./ai-code-graph/graph.db
  2. If the database doesn't exist, inform the user to run ai-code-graph analyze first
  3. Present the results ranked by similarity score
  4. For the top results, briefly describe what the method does based on its name and location
  5. Suggest which method(s) are most relevant to the user's query
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

token-search is a command published in the GitHub repository sakrut/ai-code-graph (3 stars, last pushed 7mo ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 153 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
