.claude/commands/new-prompt.md

new-prompt is a command for Claude Code from SekiroKenjii/mcp-boilerplate. It costs 11 tokens per session (184 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A repository command for creating a new MCP prompt, a reusable instruction template that an AI agent can call with arguments. It adds the prompt's source file, registration, and test.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when adding a prompt with defined arguments and a desired message response to this MCP server.
Why use it?
It removes repetitive setup work and helps new prompts match the project's expected structure.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00011 $0.00184
Opus 5 $0.00005 $0.00092
Sonnet 5 $0.00002 $0.00037
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00018

Measured 10d ago against content hash 901203ff8679, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-11, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

new-prompt scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Create a new MCP prompt for this server based on the request: $ARGUMENTS

Follow the mcp-add-prompt skill and the pattern in src/prompts/summarize.prompt.ts:

  1. Create src/prompts/<name>.prompt.ts exporting register<Name>Prompt(server) with an argsSchema (Zod raw shape) and a handler returning messages.
  2. Register it in src/prompts/index.ts.
  3. Add a test via client.getPrompt({ name, arguments }).
  4. Run pnpm typecheck && pnpm lint && pnpm test and fix anything that fails.

Ask me about the arguments and desired output if they are not clear from the request.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
