anthropic

anthropic is a command for Claude Code from sivang/sivan-claude-plugins. It costs 13 tokens per session (267 once invoked), scanned B, original, MIT.

A command that switches a Claude setup from Google Vertex AI back to Anthropic's API. It runs the provider-change script and handles setup prompts or errors.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to deactivate Vertex AI and return to Anthropic's service. It can also tell you when an Anthropic API key is needed or when a choice is required.
Why use it?
It helps when you no longer want to use Vertex AI, or when the current provider must be changed for configuration or access reasons.

Command for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: allowed-tools in frontmatter. Also seen: reads .claude/ paths; names the AskUserQuestion tool.

Runs only inside its plugin — its command needs a path that Claude Code sets for a plugin’s own hooks and for nothing else. Install the plugin, not this.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00013 $0.00267
Opus 5 $0.00006 $0.00133
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00053
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00027

Security

Grade B, and why

anthropic scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Reads agent configuration directoriesmediumAgent snooping

.claude/, .codex/, .gemini/ hold keys, settings and other credentials a mod has no legitimate need for.

What it actually says

Context

  • Current state: !cat ~/.claude/vertex-provider/state.json 2>/dev/null || echo '{"active":false}'

Your Task

Deactivate Vertex AI and switch back to Anthropic's API:

  1. Run the deactivation script and capture output:
node "${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/lib/cli/deactivate.js"
  1. If exit code is 2 (needs prompt): Parse the JSON output and use AskUserQuestion:

    • Extract the reason, question, and options from the JSON
    • Present to user with AskUserQuestion
    • Based on selection:
      • If "vertex": Tell user they remain on Vertex AI
      • If "retry": Re-run the deactivation script
      • If "cancel": Tell user they remain on current provider
    • If Anthropic needs setup (API key), tell them to set ANTHROPIC_API_KEY
  2. If exit code is 0: Confirm they are now using Anthropic's API

  3. If exit code is 1: Show the error message to the user

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

anthropic is a command published in the GitHub repository sivang/sivan-claude-plugins (1 stars, last pushed 7mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 13 tokens to every session and 267 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it B with 1 finding (reads agent configuration directories). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
