doctor

doctor is a command for Claude Code from skyispainted/codepage-bridge-mcp. It costs 16 tokens per session (229 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A diagnostic command for Codepage Bridge, a file tool for projects that use older character encodings. It checks the connection, configuration, file rules, tool selection, and common editing failures.

In plain words
What is it for?
Troubleshooting setup, file-matching rules, bypassed tools, changed files, and text that cannot be represented in the target encoding.
Why use it?
It helps locate why encoded files are being read incorrectly or why the bridge is not being used.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00016 $0.00229
Opus 5 $0.00008 $0.00114
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00046
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00023

Measured 5d ago against content hash 477faf7dbdb1, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

doctor scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

/doctor

Use this command when the user reports that Codepage Bridge is not working correctly.

Checklist

  1. Verify the MCP is connected.
  2. Verify the session tool list contains mcp__codepage-bridge__Read, Grep, Edit, and Write.
  3. Verify built-in Read, Grep, Edit, Write, and NotebookEdit are denied.
  4. Verify the project has .encoding-rules.
  5. Verify the target file path is inside the project root defined by the nearest .encoding-rules.
  6. Verify the relevant pattern matches the target file, especially nested *.cpp / *.h style rules.
  7. Verify the model is not bypassing through shell commands or scripts.
  8. If editing failed, determine whether:
    • the target lines were not read,
    • the file changed after reading,
    • the new text is not representable in the target encoding.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
