strands-sglang: Command for Claude Code

.claude/commands/consolidate-dependabot.md

consolidate-dependabot is a command for Claude Code from strands-rl/strands-sglang. It costs 0 tokens per session (1,269 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A command that reviews open Dependabot pull requests, which are proposed dependency updates, and can replace safe updates with consolidated pull requests. It keeps Python-package updates separate from GitHub Actions updates.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to inspect open Dependabot requests, judge whether updates are safe, and prepare one hand-made pull request for each supported update group.
Why use it?
It reduces a collection of small automated update requests into fewer changes while checking their tests, files, version type, and release notes. It avoids combining unrelated dependency ecosystems.

Command for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: $ARGUMENTS substitution.

This is strands-rl/strands-sglang's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on strands-sglang itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything strands-sglang configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.01269
Opus 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00508
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00254
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00127

Measured 1mo ago against content hash 5356b85b3ac2, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

consolidate-dependabot scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 93 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Review the open Dependabot PRs and, if they are safe, close them in favour of a single hand-made PR that lands the same bumps.

$ARGUMENTS optionally lists PR numbers (e.g. 100 101). Without it, take every open PR authored by app/dependabot. Never mix ecosystems in one PR: uv bumps (prefix build:) and github-actions bumps (prefix ci:) get one consolidated PR each.

1. Collect

gh pr list --author app/dependabot --state open --json number, title, headRefName, statusCheckRollup
gh pr diff <n> # per PR
gh pr view <n> -q .body # release notes, compatibility score

Also read .github/dependabot.yml (cooldown days, groups, ignore list) and the uv-pre-commit rev comment in .pre-commit-config.yaml.

2. Judge

A PR is okay to consolidate when all of these hold:

  • Every CI check passed on the PR.
  • uv PRs touch only uv.lock; github-actions PRs touch only .github/workflows/*.yml. A pyproject.toml change means a floor moved — review it as code, not as a bump.
  • Minor or patch bump. For a major bump, or release notes mentioning a removal, rename or default change in an API this package or its tests use (transformers chat templates and tokenizer.encode, strands-agents hooks/model interface, pytest/ruff/mypy config keys), stop and report to the user with the relevant notes quoted. Do not consolidate it.
  • The dependency is not in the ignore: list (e.g. e2b is pinned on purpose).

Report the verdict per PR before changing anything. Leave a not-okay PR open and untouched; only the okay ones go into the consolidated PR.

3. Branch and reproduce the change

git fetch origin && git checkout -b build/bump-<summary> origin/main

uv ecosystem — regenerate, do not copy. Use the uv version pinned for the uv-lock pre-commit hook; a different uv rewrites unrelated dependency markers (seen with secretstorage). Pin each package to the exact version Dependabot chose: a plain --upgrade-package foo grabs the newest release and skips the cooldown in dependabot.yml.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
