video-intake

video-intake is a command for Claude Code from TheSmokeDev/taskchad-os. It costs 16 tokens per session (435 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An intake step that turns a raw video request into one standardized JSON record. It extracts details such as the idea, video type, URL, duration, screen shape, and explicitly requested style.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to prepare requests for event, promotional, launch, explainer, hype, or surprise videos before research, writing, or rendering begins.
Why use it?
It gives the later video-production steps a predictable input and prevents them from guessing missing details or starting work too early.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00016 $0.00435
Opus 5 $0.00008 $0.00217
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00087
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00044

Security

Grade A, and why

video-intake scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Video Intake

You are the intake step of the video-production workflow. Turn the raw request below into ONE normalized intake object. Do not research, do not write copy, do not render.

Request

$ARGUMENTS

Rules

  • brief: the free-text idea with any flags and the URL stripped out. May be empty when the request is only a URL or flags.
  • kind: one of event | promo | launch | explainer | hype | surprise, or empty. Map natural language ("recap", "teaser", "walkthrough", "hype", "launch") onto the closest kind; leave empty when genuinely unclear.
  • url: the first http(s) URL in the request, trailing punctuation stripped, or empty.
  • duration: integer seconds clamped 8..120 when the request states a length ("20 seconds", "two minute video"), else empty string.
  • aspect: 16:9 | 9:16 | 1:1 when stated ("vertical" means 9:16, "square" means 1:1), else empty string.
  • style: an explicit style name only when the request names one (--style <name> or "in the style"), else empty string. Never invent a style here; ranking happens later.
  • Never invent facts, numbers, or intent that is not in the request.

Output

  1. Write the object to $ARTIFACTS_DIR/intake.json (UTF-8, 2-space indent).
  2. Your final output must be ONLY the same JSON object, nothing else:
{"brief": "...", "kind": "...", "url": "...", "duration": "", "aspect": "", "style": ""}
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

video-intake is a command published in the GitHub repository TheSmokeDev/taskchad-os (23 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 16 tokens to every session and 435 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
