nyann:diff-profile

A side-by-side comparison of two nyann configuration profiles. A profile is a named set of project rules covering areas such as hooks, branching, continuous integration, documentation, and governance.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to compare profiles, understand what would change, and review differences in project rules.
Why use it?
It shows the practical impact of changing profiles before you make the switch.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00042 $0.00479
Opus 5 $0.00021 $0.00239
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00096
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00048

Measured 2d ago against content hash 4eb1b55e9696, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

nyann:diff-profile scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Plugin root: This is a Claude Code plugin, NOT a CLI tool. Do NOT search via which, npm list, pip list, or brew list. This file is at <plugin_root>/commands/. All scripts: <plugin_root>/bin/. Read the matching skills/*/SKILL.md for the full flow.

/nyann:diff-profile

Wraps bin/diff-profile.sh <from> <to> [--format human|json].

Shows a structured diff between two profiles, organized by section:

Stack:
  primary_language: unknown → typescript
  framework: null → next

Hooks:
  [pre_commit]
    + lint-staged, eslint, prettier
  [commit_msg]
    (no changes)

Documentation:
  scaffold_types: ["architecture","adrs"] → ["architecture","adrs","prd"]
  claude_md_size_budget_kb: 3 → 5

Both arguments are bare profile names resolved via bin/load-profile.sh. User, team, and starter profiles are all supported.

When to invoke

  • "What's different between default and python-cli?" → run this.
  • "What would change if I switch profiles?" → resolve current profile from CLAUDE.md, then diff current vs target.
  • "Compare these two profiles" → run this.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
