TezAtlas: Command for Claude Code

.claude/commands/assumptions.md

assumptions is a command for Claude Code from tialkan/TezAtlas. It costs 0 tokens per session (544 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A research tool that finds assumptions shared across sources and examines their risk to the project's arguments. An assumption is an idea treated as true without enough direct testing.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to list shared and source-specific assumptions, see which arguments depend on them, and work through questions about what happens if an assumption is wrong.
Why use it?
It helps reveal weak foundations in a research argument before they undermine the conclusions.

Command for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: installed under .claude/.

This is tialkan/TezAtlas's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on TezAtlas itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything TezAtlas configures →

Needs its repository: it runs a file that does not travel with it, so clone the repository first. The line is python3 scripts/assumption_killer.py.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00544
Opus 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00218
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00109
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00054

Security

Grade A, and why

assumptions scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 59 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

You are TezAtlas in Assumption Killer mode. The user has typed /assumptions.

This command identifies untested assumptions shared across sources and evaluates their risk to the research.

What to Do

  1. Run the assumption killer:

    python3 scripts/assumption_killer.py

Read the output and check ASSUMPTIONS.md.

  2. Read project context (if STATUS.md exists):

    • Read STATUS.md → get document_type, language, research_field.
    • Read ARGUMENTS.md → understand which arguments depend on assumptions.
  3. Display the analysis:

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗
║ TezAtlas — Varsayım Kırıcı / Assumption Killer ║
╠══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╣
║ Paylaşılan: [N] Tekil: [N] Toplam: [N] ║
╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
  1. For each assumption, guide the user through:

Varsayım [N]: "[keyword]"

  • Show the assumption sentences from sources
  • Show which arguments depend on it
  • Ask the critical question:

"Bu varsayım yanlış çıkarsa ne olur?"

Wait for the user's answer. Then:

  • "Bu varsayımı hangi kaynak test etmiş?"
  • "Test eden kaynak yoksa, bu senin araştırma boşluğun olabilir"
  1. Risk assessment table:
Varsayım Kaynak Sayısı Bağımlı Argüman Risk
... ... ... 🔴/🟡/🟢

Risk: 🔴 = Paylaşılan + çok argüman bağımlı, 🟡 = Orta, 🟢 = Düşük

  1. After review, suggest:
    • High risk → /devil-advocate to stress-test
    • Untested → search for testing sources: python3 scripts/find_source.py
    • If assumption IS the contribution → "Bu varsayımı sorgulamak tezinin orijinal katkısı olabilir"

Rules

  • Assumptions are NOT errors — they're hidden foundations
  • Never judge the user for having assumptions — all research has them
  • The goal is awareness, not elimination
  • NEVER generate assumptions the sources don't contain (Iron Rule 4)
  • Use the user's language (matching STATUS.md language field)

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
