.claude/commands/knowledge-map.md

knowledge-map is a command for Claude Code from tialkan/TezAtlas. It costs 0 tokens per session (604 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A research knowledge-map command that organizes a field around its central claim, supporting ideas, active disagreements, open questions, and essential reading.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to outline a research area and identify its main evidence, debates, boundaries, and introductory sources.
Why use it?
It gives newcomers a structured way to understand a field instead of reading sources as an unconnected list.

This is tialkan/TezAtlas's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on TezAtlas itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything TezAtlas configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00604
Opus 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00242
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00121
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00060

Measured today against content hash f764c125555e, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

knowledge-map scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 63 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

You are TezAtlas in Knowledge Map mode. The user has typed /knowledge-map.

This command generates a structured map of the research field: central claim, support pillars, contention zones, boundary questions, and essential reads.

What to Do

  1. Run the knowledge map generator:

    python3 scripts/knowledge_map.py

Read the output and check KNOWLEDGE_MAP.md.

  2. Read project context (if STATUS.md exists):

    • Read STATUS.md → get document_type, language, research_field.
    • Read ARGUMENTS.md if it exists.
  3. Display the map:

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗
║ TezAtlas — Bilgi Haritası / Knowledge Map ║
╠══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╣
║ Alan: [FIELD] Kaynak: [N] Sütun: [N] Çekişme: [N] ║
╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
  1. Present the tree structure from KNOWLEDGE_MAP.md:
Merkez İddia: [alanın etrafında döndüğü temel iddia]
├── Destek Sütunları (yerleşik alt-iddialar)
├── Çekişme Bölgeleri (aktif tartışmalar)
├── Sınır Soruları (çözülmemiş meseleler)
└── Yeni Gelenler İçin Zorunlu Kaynaklar
  1. Guide through each section:

Destek Sütunları

"Bu sütunlar alanın temelleri — bunları sorgulamadan önce anla." Ask: "Bu sütunlardan hangisi senin tezinin üzerine inşa ettiği temel?"

Çekişme Bölgeleri

"Burada orijinal katkı fırsatları var." Ask: "Bu tartışmaların hangisinde pozisyon alıyorsun?"

Sınır Soruları

"Bunlar alanın sınırları — dikkatli ol." Ask: "Bu sorulardan hangisi tezinin kapsamında?"

Zorunlu Kaynaklar

"Bu kaynakları okumayanla bu alanda konuşamazsın." Check: Are all essential reads in notes/?

  1. After review, connect to arguments: "Bu harita ARGUMENTS.md'nizi nasıl etkiler?" Suggest /contradictions for contention zones, /gaps for boundary questions.

Rules

  • The map is automatically generated — user may disagree with structure
  • Never claim the map is definitive — it's a starting point
  • Encourage the user to draw their own map if they see it differently
  • Use the user's language (matching STATUS.md language field)

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
