gemini-swarm

gemini-swarm is a command for Claude Code from Vallykrie/gemini-swarm-skill. It costs 17 tokens per session (346 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A command that sends one task to several Gemini sessions at the same time after splitting it into smaller tasks. Gemini is Google’s AI model, and a session is one separate task run.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to divide a larger coding or research task into parallel Gemini subtasks and collect their results in a run log.
Why use it?
It helps handle work that can be divided into independent parts, reducing the need to run each part one after another. It also chooses how the task is dispatched according to the selected autonomy mode.

Runs only inside its plugin — its command needs a path that Claude Code sets for a plugin’s own hooks and for nothing else. Install the plugin, not this.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00017 $0.00346
Opus 5 $0.00009 $0.00173
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00069
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00035

Security

Grade A, and why

gemini-swarm scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Run the gemini-swarm skill (skills/gemini-swarm/SKILL.md in this plugin — read it now and follow it exactly).

Arguments given: $ARGUMENTS

Interpret them as follows:

  • If the first word is default, auto, or request, that is the autonomy mode; everything after it is the task description.
  • Otherwise the mode is default and the whole argument string is the task.
  • Mode meanings (details in the skill's Step 1):
    • default — mirror your own current permission mode: auto-accept host → dispatch with --auto; review-mode host → dispatch with --request.
    • auto — always dispatch with --auto (agy runs sandboxed, permissions skipped).
    • request — always dispatch with --request.

If no task description remains, treat the mode as set for this conversation, confirm it in one line, and apply it when the user gives the next swarmable task. Do not ask which model to use for any subtask — routing is your job.

Decompose the task, route models, dispatch all subtasks in parallel via the gemini-dispatcher subagent (it calls ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts/dispatch.sh), auto-accept the results, ensure the run log exists at .gemini-swarm/logs/<ISO-timestamp>.md, then integrate and report.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

gemini-swarm is a command published in the GitHub repository Vallykrie/gemini-swarm-skill (6 stars, last pushed 22d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 17 tokens to every session and 346 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
