plan

plan is a command for coding agents from valsecchi75/project-scaffolder. It costs 26 tokens per session (358 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A command that writes a step-by-step implementation plan before code is changed. The plan includes assumptions, verification checks, rollback instructions, and work that is out of scope.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to plan feature work, migrations, or other code changes without modifying source files. It saves the plan as a dated Markdown document.
Why use it?
It turns an unclear coding request into smaller actions with ways to check each result. It is useful when you need agreement on the approach before implementation begins.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00026 $0.00358
Opus 5 $0.00013 $0.00179
Sonnet 5 $0.00005 $0.00072
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00036

Measured 4d ago against content hash 6c0298c1afa9, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

plan scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

/plan

Think before coding (Karpathy principle). Produces a written plan with verifiable criteria. Does NOT implement.

Usage

/plan <task description>

Examples

/plan Implement pull-to-refresh on the subscription list
/plan Migrate storage from SharedPreferences to Isar
/plan Add Android home-screen widget showing monthly total

Steps

  1. If the superpowers:writing-plans skill is available → delegate to it.
  2. Otherwise, read relevant context:
    • wiki/architecture.md, wiki/tech-stack.md
    • Any skill matching the task domain
    • guardrails/errors-to-avoid.md
  3. Produce the plan file at docs/superpowers/plans/YYYY-MM-DD-<slug>.md.

Plan structure (required sections)

  • Goal: one sentence, unambiguous
  • Context: files likely touched, skills involved
  • Assumptions: tagged [HYPOTHESIS] or [FACT]
  • Steps: numbered, each with a concrete action and → VERIFY: <criterion>
  • Rollback: how to undo if a step fails
  • Out of scope: what this plan will NOT do

Rules

  • Do NOT write implementation code.
  • Do NOT modify source files.
  • If the task is ambiguous, ask clarifying questions before writing the plan.
  • Every step must have a verifiable criterion — no vague "ensure it works".
  • Plans are reviewable artifacts: assume a human reviews before /implement.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

plan is a command published in the GitHub repository valsecchi75/project-scaffolder (9 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 26 tokens to every session and 358 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
