cancel

cancel is a command for coding agents from Vitalini/ebb-ai. It costs 8 tokens per session (242 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A command that stops a queued or scheduled ebb-ai task using its task ID.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to cancel one deferred task or request cancellation of all queued and scheduled tasks.
Why use it?
It removes a task from the scheduler before it runs, while safely returning its existing status if it has already finished or been cancelled.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00008 $0.00242
Opus 5 $0.00004 $0.00121
Sonnet 5 $0.00002 $0.00048
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00024

Security

Grade A, and why

cancel scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Cancel a queued or scheduled ebb-ai task. Idempotent — calling on a task that is already completed/failed/cancelled returns the existing status without error.

Arguments

$ARGUMENTS

Expected: a single task_id (the alphanumeric identifier schedule_task returned).

If $ARGUMENTS is empty, ask the user which task they want to cancel (suggest running /ebb-ai:check first to list candidates).

If $ARGUMENTS is --all or all, instead call the cancel_all MCP tool to bulk-cancel every queued/scheduled task. Confirm the count with the user before reporting success.

What to do

  1. Call the ebb-ai MCP server's cancel_task tool with:
    • task_id — the parsed id.
  2. Show the resulting status and (if present) terminated_at. One short line.

Examples

/ebb-ai:cancel 7f3a2b9e
/ebb-ai:cancel --all
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
