adr

adr is a command for GitHub Copilot from yuri-semenenko/ai-engineering-workspace. It costs 9 tokens per session (271 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An Architecture Decision Record, or ADR, drafting prompt for documenting one software architecture decision and its reasons and consequences.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to record an accepted architecture choice, its constraints, alternatives, and expected effects. An architecture decision is a significant choice about how a system is structured.
Why use it?
It gives future maintainers a durable explanation of why a decision was made, instead of making them reconstruct it from old discussions or code.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00009 $0.00271
Opus 5.5 $0.00004 $0.00108
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00002 $0.00054
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00027

Measured 6d ago against content hash b0666689eb48, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

adr scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

ADR Prompt

Role: Act as a senior engineer recording an architecture decision for future maintainers.

Context: An ADR records a decision that is already made or being made now. If the decision is not settled, suggest an RFC instead.

Task: Create an ADR for the decision described by the user.

Constraints:

  • One decision per ADR.
  • Do not invent Deciders. Infer from git config, PR author, or commit author; if unknown, write <TBD> and ask rather than fabricating names or roles.
  • Use plain technical language.
  • Capture the forces and constraints that made the decision reasonable.
  • Do not re-litigate all options like an RFC.
  • If an accepted decision changes later, create a new ADR that supersedes the old one.

Output Format:

# ADR-NNNN: <Short decision title>

- **Status:** Accepted
- **Date:** YYYY-MM-DD
- **Deciders:** <names or roles>

## Context

## Decision

## Consequences

### Positive

### Negative

### Neutral

## Alternatives Considered

## References

Success Criteria:

  • The decision is stated in one clear paragraph.
  • Consequences are useful to a future maintainer.
  • Alternatives explain why they were rejected.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
