slideshot: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

slideshot CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from 06ketan/slideshot. It costs 1,467 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for working on Slideshot, a tool that turns HTML slide elements into PNG, WebP, PDF, or PowerPoint files. It describes the project's three-package npm workspaces monorepo, meaning one code repository containing several related packages.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when working on Slideshot's command-line tool, web app, or integration server, especially when installing dependencies, building packages, running the web app, or checking code.
Why use it?
It gives the coding agent the project's structure, rendering process, and build commands, reducing mistakes when changing or building the code.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01467 $0.01467
Opus 5 $0.00733 $0.00733
Sonnet 5 $0.00293 $0.00293
Haiku 4.5 $0.00147 $0.00147

Security

Grade A, and why

slideshot CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

slideshot is an HTML-to-slides conversion tool distributed as three packages in an npm workspaces monorepo:

  • packages/cli — CLI (npx slideshot ./file.html) and core rendering library
  • packages/webapp — Next.js 16 web app with live editor, REST API, and marketing pages
  • packages/mcp-server — MCP server for Claude Desktop/Cursor integration (depends on CLI package)

The rendering pipeline: HTML with .slide elements → Puppeteer screenshots → PNG/WebP/PDF/PPTX output.

Commands

Root (monorepo)

npm install # install all workspace dependencies
npm run build # build cli + mcp-server
npm run build:cli # build only CLI
npm run build:mcp # build only MCP server

Webapp (packages/webapp)

npm run dev # Next.js dev server (localhost:3000)
npm run build # production build
npm run lint # ESLint

CLI (packages/cli)

npm run build # compile TS, copy prompts, chmod CLI
npm run dev # TypeScript watch mode

MCP Server (packages/mcp-server)

npm run build # compile TS, copy prompts, chmod executable
npm run dev # TypeScript watch mode

No test suite exists in this project.

Architecture

Rendering Core (packages/cli/src/)

  • render.ts — Main orchestrator: renderSlides() (file output) and renderToBuffers() (memory buffers)
  • browser.ts — Puppeteer launch with containerization-safe args, device scale factor support
  • renderer.ts — Page loading, .slide element screenshot capture, PDF generation with print CSS
  • pptx.ts / pptx-native.ts — Two PPTX modes: image-based (pixel-perfect) and native (editable text extraction)
  • types.tsRenderOptions and RenderResult interfaces

Webapp (packages/webapp/src/)

  • App Router pages: / (marketing), /editor (live HTML editor), /gallery
  • API routes: POST /api/render (render HTML → ZIP), GET /api/prompt (AI prompt templates), GET /api/openapi.json
  • Production rendering uses puppeteer-core + @sparticuz/chromium for Vercel deployment; dev uses full Puppeteer
  • next.config.ts configures file tracing to include the Chromium binary for the render API route

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
