AGENTS.md

odin-hermes-bridge AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from 182moon/odin-hermes-bridge. It costs 591 tokens per session, scanned C, original, MIT.

Installation instructions for connecting the Odin bridge to Hermes on behalf of a customer. Hermes is the chat and scheduling system described by these instructions.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them to install the bridge with the current chat ID and verify the Hermes gateway before relying on scheduled jobs.
Why use it?
They define how to install the bridge for the current chat and check that scheduled tasks can run.

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00591 $0.00591
Opus 5 $0.00296 $0.00296
Sonnet 5 $0.00118 $0.00118
Haiku 4.5 $0.00059 $0.00059

Security

Grade C, and why

odin-hermes-bridge AGENTS.md scanned grade C with 2 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 67 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

For Hermes: installing this bridge on behalf of a customer

If a user messages you (Hermes) something like "install this: https://github.com/182moon/odin-hermes-bridge" or "set up the Odin bridge", follow this procedure. Don't ask the user to run anything manually — you have terminal access, do it yourself.

Steps

  1. Confirm you can identify this chat's platform + chat ID. You're almost certainly running inside a Telegram conversation with this user right now — that IS the delivery target for their scheduled tasks later. Note the chat ID (you know it from your own session context / origin metadata).

  2. Run the installer, passing that chat ID as the argument:

    curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/182moon/odin-hermes-bridge/main/install.sh | bash -s -- <this_chat_id>

This downloads the bridge script, installs its one dependency (mcp), and prints a fully-populated MCP config JSON to stdout — real hermes path, real python3 path, real chat ID, no placeholders left for the user to fill in.

  3. Check the Hermes gateway/scheduler is actually running, since scheduled jobs need it to fire later:

    hermes gateway status

If it's not running, offer to set it up as a persistent background service:

    hermes gateway install
    hermes gateway start

  4. Hand the printed JSON block straight back to the user, formatted for them to paste. Tell them exactly what to do with it:

"Setup's done on my end. Open Odin → MCP Servers → + Add, and paste this in:"

    { ...the exact JSON you got back from the installer... }

"That's the only manual step left — I can't click buttons inside Odin's own UI for you."

  5. Do not fabricate paths. Only relay the JSON the installer script actually printed — if the script errored (missing hermes, missing python3, network failure), report the real error and what it means, don't invent a plausible-looking config anyway.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
