agent-skills: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

agent-skills CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from 2ykwang/agent-skills. It costs 802 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for the agent-skills project, covering how skills are organised, generated, tested, and validated. A skill is a reusable set of instructions that guides a coding agent on a particular task.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when adding or changing a skill, generating plugin files, updating marketplace data, bumping versions, or running the project’s tests and checks.
Why use it?
They help keep source files, generated plugins, marketplace metadata, and validation checks in sync.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00802 $0.00802
Opus 5 $0.00401 $0.00401
Sonnet 5 $0.00160 $0.00160
Haiku 4.5 $0.00080 $0.00080

Measured 8d ago against content hash 936dd99e8896, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-08, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

agent-skills CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

CLAUDE.md

This file provides guidance to Claude Code (claude.ai/code) when working with code in this repository.

Overview

Skills for AI coding agents. Each skill lives under skills/. The plugins/ directory and marketplace.json are auto-generated.

Commands

just generate # Generate plugins/ and marketplace.json from skills/
just validate # Validate skill structure
just test # Run script tests (unittest, no dependencies)
just check # Run all pre-commit hooks
just version-bump # Bump patch version for changed skills (edits SKILL.md frontmatter)

Skill Structure (source)

skills/<name>/
├── SKILL.md # Skill definition (YAML frontmatter + body)
└── references/ # Optional supporting docs (read at runtime by the skill)

Generated Output (do not edit manually)

plugins/<name>/
├── .claude-plugin/
│ └── plugin.json # Generated from SKILL.md frontmatter
├── skills/ # Copied from skills/<name>/
│ ├── SKILL.md
│ └── references/
└── README.md # Generated with install commands

.claude-plugin/marketplace.json is also generated.

Adding a New Skill

  1. /add-skill <skill-name> — scaffolds skills/<name>/, generates plugins, updates README
  2. Edit skills/<name>/SKILL.md — replace TODO content
  3. just generate && just validate

Validation Rules

scripts/validate.py checks:

  • Each skills/<name>/SKILL.md has frontmatter fields: name, description, version (semver), category
  • Skill folder names are kebab-case (^[a-z0-9]+(-[a-z0-9]+)*$)

Runs automatically via pre-push hook.

SKILL.md Format

---
name: skill-name
version: 0.0.1
category: development
description: One sentence — what it does and when to trigger it.
argument-hint: "<argument>"
---

## Instructions

Use $ARGUMENTS to reference user input.

Versioning

Edit version in skills/<name>/SKILL.md frontmatter. Run just generate to propagate to plugin.json and marketplace.json.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
