mcp-suite: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

mcp-suite CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from Abhishekkumar2021/mcp-suite. It costs 4,684 tokens per session, scanned E, original, MIT.

Repository-specific instructions for Claude Code, an AI coding assistant, in an npm workspaces monorepo. They explain the project, commands, naming rules, build checks, and a basic test procedure.

In plain words
What is it for?
Building all or one TypeScript package, cleaning build output, checking CI requirements, and manually testing MCP servers with JSON-RPC.
Why use it?
They give the assistant the project context and required checks, reducing guesswork and preventing changes that break the repository's conventions.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

Security

Grade E, and why

mcp-suite CLAUDE.md scanned grade E with 3 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

CLAUDE.md

This file provides guidance to Claude Code (claude.ai/code) when working with code in this repository.

What this is

mcp-suite is an npm-workspaces monorepo of independent Model Context Protocol servers written in TypeScript (ES modules). Each server in servers/<slug>/ is its own npm package (@abhishekmcp/<slug>), versioned and published independently, but shares root tooling (tsconfig.base.json, @types/node, typescript).

Commands

npm install # install deps for all workspaces (run once at root)
npm run build # build (tsc) every server
npm run build -w servers/notes # build one server
npm run clean # rm -rf servers/*/dist

There is no test runner or linter configured. CI (.github/workflows/ci.yml) only runs npm run build across Node 18/20/22 — a clean tsc is the bar a change must clear. Verify servers with an ad-hoc stdio JSON-RPC smoke test: spawn node servers/<slug>/dist/index.js with the relevant env, write newline-delimited JSON-RPC to stdin (initializenotifications/initializedtools/list / tools/call), and parse responses from stdout line-by-line.

Hard constraints

  • stdout is the MCP transport. Never console.log from a server — log to stderr (console.error) only. A stray stdout write corrupts the protocol stream.
  • Prefer pure-JS / WASM dependencies. Servers run via npx @abhishekmcp/<slug> on any machine, so a pure-JS or WebAssembly library is always the default (portable, npm audit stays clean, no toolchain to build). A native dependency is allowed only when genuinely required (no viable pure-JS/WASM alternative), and must be gated + documented. Note the MCPB caveat: the bundle copies real node_modules, so any native .node binary is platform-specific and won't run on a different OS/arch from where it was packed. (The notes server deliberately uses MiniSearch instead of SQLite/FTS5, and hand-rolls its frontmatter parser to avoid js-yaml/npm-audit noise; the sql server uses sql.js (WASM) rather than better-sqlite3.)
  • Module resolution is Node16 ESM (tsconfig.base.json, "type": "module"). Relative imports must carry the .js extension even though the source is .ts.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

mcp-suite CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository Abhishekkumar2021/mcp-suite (1 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 4,684 tokens to every session, about $0.0234 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it E with 3 findings (cloud metadata endpoint, recursive force delete, makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
