keyboardia: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

keyboardia AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from adewale/keyboardia. It costs 870 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A project instruction file for Keyboardia, a multiplayer step sequencer with a React client, a Cloudflare Worker, and an MCP server. It lists the commands and rules used to verify changes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when changing the Keyboardia project to find the relevant validation, unit-test, lint, and browser-test commands. CI, or continuous integration, automatically runs some of these checks for proposed changes.
Why use it?
It gives a coding agent the project's own checks instead of making it guess how to test a change. It distinguishes quick checks from targeted and full browser checks.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00870 $0.00870
Opus 5.5 $0.00348 $0.00348
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00174 $0.00174
Haiku 4.5 $0.00087 $0.00087

Security

Grade A, and why

keyboardia AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 27d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Agent guide

Keyboardia is a multiplayer step sequencer: a React client, a Cloudflare Worker with Durable Objects, and an MCP server. Code and tests live in app/; run the commands below from app/. Testing policy is enforced by executable gates, so this file lists them rather than restating them. Details: specs/TESTING.md.

Verify a change

Tier Command When
T0 npm run validate:manifests && npm run validate:e2e-inventories && npm run test:unit Before every push. The pre-push hook runs exactly this.
Heavy unit lanes npm run test:audio-render and npm run test:verification-tooling When you touch audio rendering or the verification tooling. CI runs both on every PR.
T1 KEYBOARDIA_VERIFY_T1=1 git push Targeted browser lanes. CI picks T1 profiles from the changed paths (scripts/select-verification-scope.mjs, e2e/verification-impact.json); an unmatched path selects every profile.
T2 KEYBOARDIA_VERIFY_T2=1 git push Full desktop browser matrix against a local Worker. CI runs it on push to main, weekly and on dispatch.

Also run what CI runs for the files you touched: npm run lint, npm run typecheck, npm run validate:test-quality, and npm run test:integration (Workers runtime; run npm ci in test/integration first).

Gates CI blocks on

  • validate:test-antipatterns: tests that cannot fail (swallowed assertions, runtime self-skips, tautologies, tests with no assertion).
  • validate:test-links: a test must import the module it is named after and must not reimplement it; a module imported only by its tests is dead.
  • validate:dead-exports: no runtime export that only tests reach.
  • validate:unrun-tests: every test file is collected by some lane.
  • Playwright lane contracts (scripts/assert-playwright-stats.mjs): exact passed and skipped counts, flaky: 0, unexpected: 0, and exact test identities from e2e/lane-contracts.json and e2e/lane-identities.json. Adding, renaming or skipping an E2E test means updating those files in the same change (npm run update:e2e-lane-identities), where a reviewer sees it.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
