circus-mcp CLAUDE.md

circus-mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for coding agents from aether-platform/circus-mcp. It costs 959 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A project instruction file for CircusMCP, a system that lets AI agents control development applications through standard tool connections.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for guiding work on the project overview, layered architecture, process and log services, MCP protocol handling, repositories, installation, and development.
Why use it?
It gives the coding assistant the project’s structure, components, setup details, and development commands so it can work within the repository’s conventions.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00959 $0.00959
Opus 5 $0.00479 $0.00479
Sonnet 5 $0.00192 $0.00192
Haiku 4.5 $0.00096 $0.00096

Measured 3d ago against content hash 57077f25503b, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

circus-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

CircusMCP is a Domain-Driven Design (DDD) process management system that integrates Circus process manager with the Model Context Protocol (MCP). It enables AI agents to control development applications through standardized MCP tools and resources.

Architecture

The system follows a layered DDD architecture:

Controller → Service → Domain ← Infrastructure
  • Controller Layer (src/controller/): MCP protocol handling and external interfaces
  • Service Layer (src/service/): Application logic and use cases
  • Domain Layer (src/domain/): Business logic and domain models (framework-independent)
  • Infrastructure Layer (src/infrastructure/): Data access and external system integration

Key components:

  • ProcessService: Manages Circus watchers and process lifecycle
  • LogService: Background log processing with pattern classification
  • MCPController: JSON-RPC 2.0 protocol implementation for AI agent communication
  • Repository Pattern: Abstracted data access (currently in-memory, extensible to file/database)

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
