agentos-modal: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

agentos-modal AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from agno-agi/agentos-modal. It costs 2,335 tokens per session, scanned A, a copy of agentos-docker AGENTS.md, Apache-2.0.

Repository instructions for AgentOS, an agent platform that exposes agents through APIs, chat services, and MCP. They describe the project’s architecture, important files, development setup, and working rules.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when developing, configuring, or deploying the AgentOS project and its agents, teams, workflows, and integrations.
Why use it?
They give coding agents the project-specific context needed to make changes that fit the repository’s design.

Instructions file for CodexOpenCode

Written for Codex and OpenCode: the file is AGENTS.md. Also seen: reads .claude/ paths; mentions CLAUDE.md; mentions Codex.

This is agno-agi/agentos-modal's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on agentos-modal itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything agentos-modal configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.02335 $0.02335
Opus 5.5 $0.00934 $0.00934
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00467 $0.00467
Haiku 4.5 $0.00233 $0.00233

Security

Grade A, and why

agentos-modal AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 184 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

AgentOS Modal with Neon PostgreSQL template

This is a thin application over Agno. Keep application wiring and policy here; generic manager behavior belongs in Agno. CLAUDE.md links to this file.

Working rules

  • Read the relevant source and inspect git status before editing. Preserve unrelated changes and keep work within the requested scope.
  • Agno owns OS Manager (os-manager-internal), its members, source tools, Studio, Company Manager (company-manager-internal), authorization, durable execution and sandbox lifecycle. Configure OSManager(root=agentos_root) in app/main.py; do not recreate these components or add application-owned queues, lifecycle code or Company state machines.
  • Check framework behavior against the Agno version pinned in pyproject.toml. Do not bypass framework rejections or add compatibility adapters to this template.
  • Keep the starter lean. Add abstractions, tests and infrastructure only for a concrete application need. Never print or commit credentials.

Workflows

Read the relevant local skill before starting. Slash commands refer to coding-agent workflows in .agents/skills/; .claude/skills links to that directory.

Task Skill
First local setup setup-platform
Add an agent create-agent
Change an agent or add a Studio capability extend-agent
Add behavioral coverage create-evals
Harden an agent with simulations and targeted fixes improve
Review repository consistency and public readiness review-and-improve
Deploy or change production configuration deploy-platform

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
