gogh AGENTS.md

A set of operating instructions for Gogh, a frontend design toolkit for coding agents. It defines which files to read, how to record research evidence, and how to verify the toolkit’s status.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when working on the Gogh repository or its agent instructions. It covers documentation order, source and adapter records, project files, and audit commands.
Why use it?
It gives agents a consistent way to load project context, support claims with dated sources, preserve source material, and avoid treating an unfinished scaffold as production-ready.

One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00361 $0.00361
Opus 5 $0.00180 $0.00180
Sonnet 5 $0.00072 $0.00072
Haiku 4.5 $0.00036 $0.00036

Measured 3d ago against content hash ebaa3aed7e43, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

gogh AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Gogh Agent Instructions

The canonical agent entrypoint is SKILL.md; this file exists for agent runtimes that load project-level AGENTS.md instructions.

Gogh is a six-skill frontend design stack brain for AI coding agents.

Read Order

  1. SKILL.md
  2. README.md
  3. docs/OPERATOR_KIT.md
  4. docs/PRODUCT_BOUNDARIES.md
  5. references/product-spec.md
  6. references/source-ledger.json
  7. references/adapter-manifest.json
  8. references/claim-ledger.md
  9. references/skill-registry.json

Operating Rules

  • Do not call this brain market-ready unless scripts/audit_brain.py --require market-ready passes.
  • A scaffold is not a finished brain.
  • Domain-specific claims require dated trustworthy sources.
  • Research evidence must be recorded in references/source-ledger.json.
  • Adapter completion must be recorded in references/adapter-manifest.json.
  • Preserve .raw/ as immutable source material.
  • Keep Obsidian wiki/, CODEX.md, dashboards, canvases, frontmatter, wikilinks, graph hygiene, and source citations healthy.
  • V1 is advisory and read-only unless a future release defines approval and rollback for mutations.

Verification

Run the package command only from a clean tree.

python -m compileall scripts gogh tests
python tests/test_adapters.py
python tests/test_pipeline.py
python scripts/lint_vault.py --vault .
python scripts/audit_brain.py --json
python scripts/package_release.py --version 1.0.0 --release-type market-ready
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
