ai-atelie AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from aiatelie/ai-atelie. It costs 1,453 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for AI Atelie, a local design workspace where people and coding agents shape HTML, JSX, and CSS designs together.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when editing AI Atelie, including its Bun server, React editor, MCP integration, design skills, or documentation.
Why use it?
They give an agent the project layout, commands, and conventions needed to work in the repository without guessing.

Instructions file for CodexOpenCode

Written for Codex and OpenCode: the file is AGENTS.md. Also seen: reads .claude/ paths; mentions Claude Code; mentions AGENTS.md.

This is aiatelie/ai-atelie's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on ai-atelie itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything ai-atelie configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01453 $0.01453
Opus 5 $0.00727 $0.00727
Sonnet 5 $0.00291 $0.00291
Haiku 4.5 $0.00145 $0.00145

Measured 8d ago against content hash b112c0da8e79, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-08, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

ai-atelie AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 91 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

AGENTS.md

Project orientation for any agent working on this repo (Claude Code, OpenCode, Codex, or other AGENTS.md-aware CLIs).

What this is

AI Atelie — a local-first, MIT-licensed design atelier. Designs live as sandboxed folders of HTML/JSX/CSS that the user and an agent CLI shape together. The repo wires into whichever coding-agent CLI is on PATH (Claude Code, Kimi, Codex, etc.) rather than bundling a proprietary agent.

Workspaces

api/ Bun + Hono SSE server bridging the web UI to the local agent CLI
web/ React + Vite editor; each design at web/projects/<id>/ as raw HTML/JSX/CSS
mcp/ ask-user, starters, capability surface — including DesignCanvas protocol
skills/ end-user product skills loaded into adapter-spawned editor sessions
.claude/skills/ contributor (dev-time) skills loaded when working ON this repo
atelier/ canonical craft rulebook (typography, color, anti-slop, accessibility, …)
docs/ contributor-facing docs and architecture notes

Bun workspaces: api, web, mcp (see package.json).

Common commands

bun install # install workspace deps
bun run dev # start api + web together (concurrently)
bun run build # production build of web
bun run test:e2e # Playwright e2e (excludes journeys)
bun run test:journeys # Playwright journey suite (CUJ + per-feature)
bun run journeys # journeys + inline PR-evidence pipeline

Conventions

  • Commits: Conventional Commits 1.0.0 with the closed scope set api | web | mcp | skills | repo | deps. Imperative subject. CHANGELOG is auto-generated by changelogen + bumpp — write commit bodies that read well in the changelog.
  • Branching / PRs: one branch with multiple semantic commits, one PR. Don't split a logical change across multiple PRs.
  • Comments: default to none. Only annotate non-obvious why — hidden constraints, surprising invariants, workarounds for specific bugs.
  • Tests: web/tests/e2e/cuj.spec.ts is the load-bearing Critical User Journey. Any change that plausibly affects routes, onboarding, canvas, or chat must keep it green.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
