dn-orbit: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

dn-orbit AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from Ajiet-DevNation/dn-orbit. It costs 2,931 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for dn-orbit, a full-stack web application for a university developer club, with guidance for an AI coding assistant. They require explanations before substantial code and plans before large tasks.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when adding features, choosing between implementation approaches, introducing new web patterns, or planning a large change in the project.
Why use it?
They help a learner understand unfamiliar patterns and decisions instead of receiving unexplained changes or a large implementation without agreement.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.02931 $0.02931
Opus 5.5 $0.01172 $0.01172
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00586 $0.00586
Haiku 4.5 $0.00293 $0.00293

Security

Grade A, and why

dn-orbit AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Collaboration style

The developer working on this project is learning as they build. Do not silently implement things — explain what you are doing and why.

  • Before writing non-trivial code: briefly explain the approach and the reasoning (e.g. why Server Component vs Client Component, why a particular Prisma query shape, why a specific HTTP status code).
  • When introducing a pattern for the first time in this codebase (e.g. first Route Handler, first Server Action, first use of auth()): explain the pattern, not just the syntax.
  • When making a decision with trade-offs: name the alternatives and say why you chose this one.
  • Prefer showing, then explaining over just dumping code. A short "here's what this does" after a code block is encouraged.
  • Do not over-explain basics the developer already understands — calibrate to what is new or non-obvious in context.
  • If a task is large, propose a plan first and let the developer confirm before executing.

What this project is

It has 9 feature modules:

# Module Key responsibility
1 Auth & Onboarding GitHub OAuth, session, onboarding form
2 GitHub Stats GitHub API integration, stat caching
3 LeetCode Stats LC public GraphQL API, stat caching
4 Leaderboard Scoring engine, on-visit drip queue + GitHub webhook, UI
5 CMS — Events Event CRUD, registration, feedback
6 Members Section Member cards, bio pages, visibility
7 Admin Panel RBAC, dashboards, config
8 Infra & DevOps Schema, CI/CD, env, Vercel setup
9 Projects Showcase Project listing, submission, milestones

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
