ai-tc: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

ai-tc CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from akasecurity/ai-tc. It costs 3,332 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Repository instructions for AI Traffic Control, a local security system for monitoring AI coding agents. They describe its architecture, technology choices, and required coding rules.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when working in the ai-tc repository to follow rules such as fail-open behavior and defining contracts before implementation. The excerpt does not provide enough detail to describe every rule.
Why use it?
They give agents the project’s constraints before they change code, reducing the chance of breaking its security or local-first design.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.03332 $0.03332
Opus 5.5 $0.01333 $0.01333
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00666 $0.00666
Haiku 4.5 $0.00333 $0.00333

Security

Grade A, and why

ai-tc CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AI Traffic Control — Conventions for AI Agents

Read this before generating any code in this repository. These conventions are enforced by ESLint and CI — code that violates them will fail to merge.

AI Traffic Control (ai-tc, by AKA Security — the aka CLI and plugin names come from the company) is a local-first security control plane for AI coding agents. The whole surface runs on one machine with no server, no Docker, and no database engine: the Claude Code plugin, the Codex CLI plugin, the Antigravity plugin, the browser extension (ChatGPT + Claude.ai web chat, bridged over Chrome native messaging — no port, no listener), and the aka CLI capture agent activity into a local SQLite store at ~/.aka/data/aka.db, and the web dashboard reads that same store directly. There is no account and no AKA backend — nothing is sent to a service AKA runs. (Narrow outbound paths do exist — the default-on update notice's npm view lookups, package-manager installs, the opt-in /aka:setup calibration, which sends raw findings to the model API via the claude CLI, and an attached machine's forwarding to a control plane the USER's organization runs — enumerated in §4. "No AKA backend" stays true across all of them: aka attach names a deployment the customer operates, not one AKA does.)

Tech stack

  • Language: TypeScript strict mode, ESM everywhere ("type": "module")
  • Monorepo: pnpm workspaces + Turborepo
  • Runtime: Node.js 24+ (the CLI and plugin hooks use the built-in node:sqlite — no native dependency); .nvmrc, CI, and @types/node all track the Active LTS line, matching the engines floor
  • Local store: SQLite via node:sqlite, wrapped by @akasecurity/persistence; the schema is defined with Drizzle in @akasecurity/schema
  • Validation: Zod schemas in @akasecurity/schema — the single source of truth
  • Web dashboard: Next.js 15 + React 19 (Server Components read the store; Server Actions mutate it)
  • Testing: Vitest
  • Packaging: the aka CLI and the Claude Code / Codex CLI / Antigravity plugins, published to npm as self-contained bundles

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
