Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00697 | $0.00697 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00349 | $0.00349 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00139 | $0.00139 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00070 | $0.00070 |
Grade A, and why
minimax-image-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 79 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
AGENTS.md
What this is
TypeScript MCP server wrapping MiniMax's image-01 image generation API. Single tool: minimax_image_generate.
Quick commands
npm run build # compile TypeScript → dist/
npm run dev # watch mode with tsx
npm start # run compiled server (requires MINIMAX_API_KEY)
Always npm run build before testing. The MCP client loads dist/index.js, not source.
Required env
MINIMAX_API_KEY— Bearer token for MiniMax API. Set inopencode.jsonunderenvironment.
Architecture

├── index.ts # Entry point, validates env, connects stdio transport
├── server.ts # McpServer creation, tool registration
├── client.ts # MiniMaxClient — fetch + retry logic
├── schemas.ts # Zod input validation
├── errors.ts # MiniMaxApiError, toErrorResult, toTextResult
├── constants.ts # API URLs, error codes, retry delays
└── utils.ts # Output directory, file saving
Flow: index.ts → createServer(client) → server.connect(StdioServerTransport)
Key facts
- API endpoint:
POST https://api.minimax.io/v1/image_generation - Model:
image-01(hardcoded inconstants.ts) - Transport: stdio (not HTTP)
- Images saved to:
./output/by default (relative to MCP process cwd). Pass absoluteoutput_dirfor the workspace. Optional:MINIMAX_OUTPUT_DIR,MINIMAX_ALLOWED_OUTPUT_ROOTS - Rate limit: 10 RPM official, but real bottleneck is ~16s latency per request
- Retry: errors 1002 (60s backoff) and 2045 (30s backoff) are retried automatically; 1004/2049/2056/1026/1027 are fatal
API quirks worth knowing
response_format: "base64"recommended — URLs expire in 24hn=9is 8× faster than 9 separate calls, same cost- Prompt max: 1500 characters
- Aspect ratios:
1:1,16:9,4:3,3:2,2:3,3:4,9:16,21:9
opencode.json config
The MCP is registered as minimax-image in ~/.config/opencode/opencode.json:
"minimax-image": {
"type": "local",
"command": ["node", "C:\\code\\mcp-servers\\minimax-image-mcp\\dist\\index.js"],
"environment": {

}
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

minimax-image-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository alexlivre/minimax-image-mcp (0 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 697 tokens to every session, about $0.0035 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
