it-contractors-skills: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

it-contractors-skills AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from AlexTeplovCPA/it-contractors-skills. It costs 453 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Platform-neutral workflow instructions for Canadian IT contractors, with guidance stored in reusable skill files and separate adapters for different AI tools. They cover preparation and organization while leaving final tax, legal, and employment conclusions to qualified professionals.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them to prepare Canadian IT-contractor work involving business organization, tax-related records, GST/HST, deductibility, or employment-status questions before consulting a CPA or other professional.
Why use it?
They keep contractor workflows consistent and prevent the assistant from giving unsupported professional advice or requesting sensitive personal information.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00453 $0.00453
Opus 5 $0.00227 $0.00227
Sonnet 5 $0.00091 $0.00091
Haiku 4.5 $0.00045 $0.00045

Security

Grade A, and why

it-contractors-skills AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AGENTS.md - it-contractors-skills

This repository contains platform-neutral AI workflow skills for Canadian IT contractors.

The canonical workflows live in skills/*/SKILL.md. Treat those files as agent-neutral source material. Do not rewrite them to depend on Codex, Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or any other provider unless the change is limited to a platform adapter document.

Working rules

  • Keep the repository client-facing, IT-contractor-specific, and preparation-oriented.
  • Preserve the boundary between organization and advice.
  • Do not make final tax, legal, deductibility, PSB, GST/HST, or employment-status conclusions.
  • Use the phrase from the relevant skill when a request falls outside scope: "That is outside what this workflow covers. It is a question for a CPA before you file."
  • Do not ask users for SINs, business numbers, bank account numbers, account login details, or full client names.
  • Use American spelling and avoid em dashes.
  • Keep SKILL.md instructions operational. Write to the agent, not to the end user.

Codex usage

When a user asks to use this repository in Codex:

  1. Match the request to the relevant skills/*/SKILL.md frontmatter description.
  2. Read the selected SKILL.md.
  3. Read only the reference files named in that skill's resource map when they are needed.
  4. Follow the workflow and output rules in the skill.
  5. Route to another skill only when the current skill explicitly identifies that downstream need.

If automatic skill discovery is not available, use repo-read mode. The user can ask Codex to follow a named file, such as:

Use skills/collecting-tax-documents/SKILL.md to organize my 2025 contractor tax documents.

Platform adapters

Platform-specific guidance belongs in:

  • AGENTS.md for Codex repo-level guidance
  • CLAUDE.md for Claude repo-level guidance
  • GEMINI.md for Gemini repo-level guidance
  • docs/platforms/ for installation and compatibility notes

Do not put provider-specific installation details inside canonical skill instructions unless a skill genuinely requires that provider.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
