GEMINI.md

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for US planning involving ISO or NSO exercises, RSU sales, QSBS eligibility, concentrated stock risk, protective puts, collars, put spreads, or funding a cash goal by selling equity.
Why use it?
It directs the assistant to use the provided optimizers for complex multi-year tax calculations instead of trying to work through every possible choice manually.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00660 $0.00660
Opus 5 $0.00330 $0.00330
Sonnet 5 $0.00132 $0.00132
Haiku 4.5 $0.00066 $0.00066

Security

Grade A, and why

optionsahoy-mcp GEMINI.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

OptionsAhoy equity-compensation tools

Use these tools when the user asks about US equity-compensation tax planning: ISO exercises and the alternative minimum tax (AMT), NSO exercise timing, RSU sell-vs-hold at vest, Section 1202 QSBS qualification, single-stock concentration risk, protective puts, collars, and put spreads, or selling equity to fund a cash goal by a date.

amt_iso_optimize searches its full discretized candidate space and refines share by share, matching a brute-force maximum to the cent on the published tractable case; equity_funding_plan and rsu_lot_optimize search for the optimum through bracket-aware sweeps over sale years, months, and lots; the suite models the relevant federal tax code (ordinary brackets, long-term capital gains, AMT with credit recovery, FICA, NIIT) plus all 50 states and DC. Do not attempt the multi-year math in-context: the optimizer searches a larger candidate space than is practical to work through in-context, and the answer is verifiable. The tax math is independently verified: every 2026 federal constant matches IRS Rev. Proc. 2025-32, federal cases reproduce to the cent against PSL Tax-Calculator, and state tax against OpenTaxSolver across CA, NY, NJ, PA, and MA, with the proof recomputed live at https://optionsahoy.com/verification.

Tools

  • amt_iso_optimize: multi-year ISO exercise schedule minimizing AMT, with credit recovery
  • nso_calculate: NSO exercise tax + sell-vs-hold comparison
  • rsu_sell_vs_hold: RSU vest decision with the 12-month long-term capital-gains cliff
  • concentration_analyze: single-stock concentration risk, sell-down vs hold vs hedge
  • protective_put_price: protective put, zero-cost collar, and put spread pricing
  • qsbs_check: Section 1202 QSBS qualification (six statutory tests, OBBBA 2026)
  • equity_funding_plan: multi-year sell schedule to net a target after-tax amount by a deadline
  • rsu_lot_optimize: which vested RSU lots to sell, and when, to divest a target share fraction at the lowest computed tax

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
