Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.01640 | $0.01640 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00820 | $0.00820 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00328 | $0.00328 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00164 | $0.00164 |
Grade A, and why
pino CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 86 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
CLAUDE.md
This file provides guidance to Claude Code (claude.ai/code) when working with code in this repository.
What this is
A minimal Node.js HTTP reverse proxy in front of api.anthropic.com. Zero runtime dependencies, no build step. Clients point ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL at the proxy; it forwards everything to upstream, optionally mutating /v1/messages requests to improve prompt caching and/or shrink the request body.
Running
npm start # pure pass-through on :8787
AUTO_CACHE=1 npm start # force 1h TTL + auto-inject breakpoints
TRANSFORM_FILE=./src/transforms/default.js npm start # load custom body mutator
LOG_BODIES=1 LOG_DIR=./logs npm start # dump req/resp to disk
# Typical full dev invocation:
AUTO_CACHE=1 TRANSFORM_FILE=./src/transforms/default.js \
DROP_TOOLS=NotebookEdit,CronCreate,CronDelete,CronList \
LOG_BODIES=1 npm start
# Or invoke the bin directly (same thing):
node bin/pino-proxy.js
Requires Node >= 20 (ESM, top-level await). No linter yet.
npm test # node --test over test/*.test.js (zero deps, synthetic fixtures)
Tests use the built-in node:test runner with fully anonymized, hand-built request fixtures in test/fixtures.js — no real session IDs, paths, or user content. test/transform.test.js covers the restructureV123 regression (assistant prose mentioning "ToolSearch" must not be hoisted/deleted, which used to orphan a role:"system" reminder → API 400) plus the safety-net relabel pass. test/cache.test.js covers breakpoint injection, the 4-cap, tail TTL, small-system stripping, and ensureBetaHeader.
Layout
bin/pino-proxy.js # shebang entry — imports startServer() and calls it
src/server.js # createServer() + startServer(); the HTTP request handler lives here
src/config.js # env parsing (loadConfig), TRANSFORM_FILE loader, constants (UPSTREAM_HOST, BETA_FLAG, ceilings)
src/cache.js # rewriteCacheControl, injectBreakpointIfAbsent, ensureBetaHeader, countCacheBreakpoints
src/logger.js # ts/fileTs/log, sanitizeHeaders, writeRequestLog, createResponseLogStream
src/model.js # rewriteSystemModelRefs — rewrites model ID/name refs in system blocks for MODEL_OVERRIDE
src/transforms/default.js # env-driven example transform (DROP_TOOLS, STRIP_ANSI, TRIM_BASH_GIT)
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
