platform CLAUDE.md

Project instructions for an ambient-code platform: a Kubernetes-based system that runs AI sessions in containers, with Go, Next.js, Python, and a command-line interface.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when modifying the platform's backend, frontend, Kubernetes controller, runners, APIs, SDKs, deployment files, or command-line tools.
Why use it?
They give coding agents the repository structure, technology context, and project conventions needed to make appropriate changes.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.02307 $0.02307
Opus 5 $0.01154 $0.01154
Sonnet 5 $0.00461 $0.00461
Haiku 4.5 $0.00231 $0.00231

Security

Grade A, and why

platform CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Ambient Code Platform

Kubernetes-native AI automation platform that orchestrates agentic sessions through containerized microservices. Built with Go (backend, operator), NextJS + Shadcn (frontend), Python (runner), and Kubernetes CRDs.

Technical artifacts still use "vteam" for backward compatibility.

Structure

  • components/backend/ - Go REST API (Gin), manages K8s Custom Resources with multi-tenant project isolation
  • components/frontend/ - NextJS web UI for session management and monitoring
  • components/operator/ - Go Kubernetes controller, watches CRDs and creates Jobs
  • components/runners/ambient-runner/ - Python runner executing Claude Code CLI in Job pods
  • components/ambient-cli/ - Go CLI (acpctl), manages agentic sessions from the command line
  • components/public-api/ - Stateless HTTP gateway, proxies to backend (no direct K8s access)
  • components/ambient-api-server/ - Go REST API microservice (rh-trex-ai framework), PostgreSQL-backed
  • components/ambient-sdk/ - Go + Python client SDK for the platform's public REST API
  • components/open-webui-llm/ - Open WebUI LLM integration
  • components/manifests/ - Kustomize-based deployment manifests and overlays
  • e2e/ - Cypress end-to-end tests
  • docs/ - Astro Starlight documentation site
  • specs/ - Desired state of the system (sessions, agents, control-plane, integrations, standards)
  • workflows/ - Agent-consumable procedures (sessions, control-plane, integrations)
  • skills/ - Agent Skills (.claude/skills symlinks here; domain symlinks in specs/{domain}/.agents/skills)

Key Files

  • CRD definitions: components/manifests/base/crds/agenticsessions-crd.yaml, projectsettings-crd.yaml
  • Session lifecycle: components/backend/handlers/sessions.go, components/operator/internal/handlers/sessions.go
  • Auth & RBAC middleware: components/backend/handlers/middleware.go
  • K8s client init: components/operator/internal/config/config.go
  • Runner entry point: components/runners/ambient-runner/main.py
  • Route registration: components/backend/routes.go
  • Frontend API layer: components/frontend/src/services/api/, src/services/queries/

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

platform CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository ambient-code/platform (129 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 2,307 tokens to every session, about $0.0115 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
