What is android-adb-skill CLAUDE.md?

Android device-automation rules for using a shared wrapper around ADB, the command-line tool for communicating with Android devices and emulators. They specify when to use structured JSON output and when raw ADB is acceptable.

Use them when taking screenshots, dumping the user interface, waiting for elements, targeting a particular device, or falling back to ADB for operations the wrapper does not support.

They provide a consistent way to run device actions and require the agent to verify the screen or interface state afterward. This reduces mistakes caused by assuming an action succeeded.

Rules

Prefer ./tools/android ... --json for anything that returns structured data.
Use --device <id> when the user named a target device or when multiple devices are attached.
Verify state after interactions with ./tools/android ui dump, ./tools/android wait element, or ./tools/android screenshot.
Fall back to raw adb only when ./tools/android lacks the needed operation.
