Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00639 | $0.00639 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00319 | $0.00319 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00128 | $0.00128 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00064 | $0.00064 |
Grade A, and why
claude-cruise CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 75 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Project Overview
Claude Cruise is a smart proxy for Claude Code that prevents rate limits by predicting usage patterns and automatically routing requests to fallback providers (Haiku, OpenRouter, Ollama) when approaching quotas.
Development Commands
# Development (runs tsx with React/Ink terminal UI)
npm run dev
# Build TypeScript to dist/
npm run build
# Run built version
npm start
# Type checking
npm run typecheck
# Run tests
npm test
Architecture
Core Modules
-
src/proxy/server.ts- Hono-based HTTP proxy server that intercepts Claude API calls, logs usage, and serves the web dashboard. Handles both streaming and non-streaming responses. -
src/predictor/index.ts- Rate limit prediction engine with three components:RateLimitTracker- Learns actual limits from 429 errorsVelocityCalculator- Calculates usage rate and detects patterns (burst/steady/declining)PredictionEngine- Predicts when limits will be hit based on learned limits and velocity
-
src/router/index.ts- Smart routing with threshold-based model switching:- 0-70%: Use requested model (Sonnet)
- 70-85%: Switch to Haiku (73% cheaper)
- 85-95%: Switch to OpenRouter
- 95%+: Switch to Ollama (local, free)
-
src/storage/database.ts- SQLite persistence using better-sqlite3. Stores usage logs, rate limit events, routing decisions, and sessions. Data stored in~/.cruise/usage.db. -
src/cli/index.tsx- Terminal UI built with Ink (React for CLI). Renders dashboard with usage gauges, predictions, and routing status.
Data Flow
- Claude Code sends request to proxy (localhost:4141)
- Router checks prediction engine for current usage %
- Request routed to appropriate provider based on thresholds
- Response streamed back, usage logged to SQLite
- On 429 error, predictor learns and router activates fallback
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

claude-cruise CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository amitlals/claude-cruise (11 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 639 tokens to every session, about $0.0032 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
