CLAUDE.md

dot-claude-plugins CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from and3r817/dot-claude-plugins. It costs 1,578 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A repository guide for Claude Code, an AI coding assistant, covering the structure and working rules of a plugin marketplace.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when developing, testing, or extending plugins with hooks, scripts, references, and assets.
Why use it?
It gives the assistant the project’s architecture, test commands, and rules for loading plugin parts when needed.

Written for Claude Code: ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT} variable. Also seen: mentions CLAUDE.md; mentions Claude Code; mentions Codex.

This is and3r817/dot-claude-plugins's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on dot-claude-plugins itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything dot-claude-plugins configures →

Runs only inside a plugin — its command needs a path that Claude Code sets for a plugin’s own hooks and for nothing else, and the catalogue could not identify which plugin ships it.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01578 $0.01578
Opus 5 $0.00789 $0.00789
Sonnet 5 $0.00316 $0.00316
Haiku 4.5 $0.00158 $0.00158

Measured 6d ago against content hash e4ae46a9f7f8, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

dot-claude-plugins CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Repository Overview

Claude Code plugin marketplace providing PreToolUse hooks (enforcement), skills (capabilities), and hybrid plugins. Each plugin is independently installable and follows a progressive disclosure architecture.

Core Architecture Principles

Progressive Disclosure: Load components only when execution requires them (minimize token usage)

  • Always loaded: plugin.json (metadata only)
  • Auto-loaded: hooks/hooks.json (event handler definitions)
  • On demand: scripts/ (execution logic), references/ (decision data), assets/ (templates)

Plugin Directory Structure:

plugin-name/
├── .claude-plugin/plugin.json    # Required: metadata
├── hooks/hooks.json               # Optional: PreToolUse event handlers
├── scripts/enforce.py # Optional: validation logic (Python preferred)
├── tests/test-*.sh                # Required: test suite using test-framework.sh
└── README.md                      # Required: installation/usage

Hook Script Contract (PreToolUse stdin format):

{
  "tool_name": "Bash",
  "tool_input": {
    "command": "..."
  }
}
  • Exit 0 = allow | Exit 2 = block | Other = log but allow
  • Timeout: 1 second max (keep logic minimal)
  • Errors to stderr with actionable suggestions
  • Must handle: empty input, invalid JSON, missing fields

Hook Script Implementation Pattern:

#!/usr/bin/env python3
import json, sys

try:
    data = json.load(sys.stdin)
    cmd = data.get('tool_input', {}).get('command', '')

    if not cmd:
        sys.exit(0)

    # Validation logic here
    if should_block:
        sys.stderr.write("Error message with suggestion")
        sys.exit(2)

    sys.exit(0)
except Exception:
    sys.exit(0)  # Always fail gracefully

Testing Commands

# Run all test suites (master runner)
./run-all-tests.sh

# Run specific plugin tests
./test-framework.sh <plugin>/tests/test-*.sh

# Manual hook testing
echo '{"tool_name":"Bash","tool_input":{"command":"test"}}' | python3 <plugin>/scripts/script.py
echo "Exit code: $?"

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
