claude-fleet-monitor: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

claude-fleet-monitor CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from andre-motta/claude-fleet-monitor. It costs 1,218 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for Claude Fleet Monitor, a Python tool that tracks Claude Code and Codex sessions. It describes how session data, terminal connections, monitoring screens, and integrations fit together.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when working on session discovery, terminal support, the monitoring interface, or the tool's integrations.
Why use it?
They give coding agents the architecture and design decisions needed to change the monitor without breaking how sessions are collected or displayed.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01218 $0.01218
Opus 5 $0.00609 $0.00609
Sonnet 5 $0.00244 $0.00244
Haiku 4.5 $0.00122 $0.00122

Measured 4d ago against content hash 80646c280185, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-12, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

claude-fleet-monitor CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Claude Fleet Monitor

Fleet monitoring for Claude Code and Codex sessions. The core is pure Python and cross-platform. The approved Pi integration may package an optional dependency-free JavaScript extension.

See docs/SDLC.md for the adopted agent workflow, approval gates and active planning.

Modules

  • hook.py: Claude Code and Codex hook handler. Receives events via stdin JSON, writes session status to the fleet directory, and tags the source agent. Captures terminal type and PID per session.
  • discovery.py: Shared module. Cross-platform process discovery (/proc on Linux, lsof/ps on macOS, tasklist on Windows). Reads/deduplicates/cleans session files. Used by all consumers.
  • models.py: Typed data models. SessionStatus enum, FleetSession frozen dataclass, parse_session() converter, format_age() utility.
  • mcp_server.py: FastMCP server exposing fleet tools to Claude Code and Codex sessions.
  • tui.py: Textual-based interactive dashboard (FleetMonitorApp). Polling, search/filter, desktop notifications, session focus.
  • widgets/session_table.py: SessionTable(DataTable) widget with status-colored rows. Shared between standalone TUI and tongs screen.
  • views/fleet_screen.py: FleetScreen(Screen) for embedding in tongs. Same features as standalone but escape pops back.
  • tongs_plugin.py: FleetMonitorPlugin(TongsPlugin) ABC implementation. Optional tongs dependency. Registers command palette entry and screen.
  • focus.py: Session lookup and PID resolution. Delegates to terminal APIs for actual focus.
  • cli.py: Entry point for claude-fleet command. Installs Claude Code and Codex hooks and MCP configuration, then delegates to tui/focus/status.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
