Soroka: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

Soroka AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from AndyShaman/Soroka. It costs 892 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Deployment instructions for Soroka, a project that is installed on a remote server and controlled through Telegram. They specify which server address and two Telegram values must be collected before deployment.

In plain words
What is it for?
Checking SSH access, cloning Soroka onto the remote server, running its installer there, and handing the resulting Telegram bot deployment to the user.
Why use it?
They provide a fixed deployment procedure and prevent the installer from asking for unnecessary credentials. They also require SSH key access before attempting installation.

This is AndyShaman/Soroka's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on Soroka itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything Soroka configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00892 $0.00892
Opus 5 $0.00446 $0.00446
Sonnet 5 $0.00178 $0.00178
Haiku 4.5 $0.00089 $0.00089

Measured 7d ago against content hash 48072f9b78f7, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

Soroka AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AGENTS.md — Deployment protocol for AI agents

This file is the authoritative protocol for AI agents (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) deploying Soroka. Humans should read README.md.

Required values from the user

Ask the user for these (and only these) before doing anything else:

  • VPSuser@host, e.g. [email protected] or an SSH alias
  • TELEGRAM_BOT_TOKEN— from @BotFather
  • OWNER_TELEGRAM_ID — from @userinfobot

DO NOT ask the user for any other keys (Jina, Deepgram, OpenRouter, GitHub). Those are collected later via the bot's /start wizard, in Telegram.

If ssh "$VPS" 'echo ok' fails (password prompt or permission denied), stop and tell the user to set up an SSH key first — either ssh-copy-id "$VPS" or the vps-setup-skill (server hardening flow that creates a non-root user with a key).

Deployment

The installer runs on the VPS itself (not from the local machine). Drive it through SSH with the non-interactive flags:

ssh "$VPS" "git clone https://github.com/AndyShaman/Soroka.git soroka \
  && cd soroka \
  && ./bin/install --tg-token '$TELEGRAM_BOT_TOKEN' --owner-id '$OWNER_TELEGRAM_ID'"

If the repo already exists from a previous attempt:

ssh "$VPS" "cd soroka && git pull --ff-only \
  && ./bin/install --tg-token '$TELEGRAM_BOT_TOKEN' --owner-id '$OWNER_TELEGRAM_ID'"

Verify success:

ssh "$VPS" docker ps | grep soroka-bot

Hand-off

After successful deployment, tell the user:

"Готово. Открой Telegram, найди своего бота и отправь /start. Бот проведёт через 6 шагов: ключи Jina, Deepgram, OpenRouter, выбор моделей, GitHub-зеркало и канал-инбокс."

Diagnostics

# Bot logs
ssh "$VPS" docker logs --tail 200 soroka-bot

# Setup wizard state — DB lives inside the repo dir, not /opt/soroka
ssh "$VPS" "cd soroka && sqlite3 data/soroka.db 'SELECT setup_step FROM owners'"

# Note count
ssh "$VPS" "cd soroka && sqlite3 data/soroka.db 'SELECT count(*) FROM notes'"

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
