aptos-agent-skills: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

aptos-agent-skills CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from aptos-labs/aptos-agent-skills. It costs 2,840 tokens per session, scanned C, original, MIT.

A set of instructions for building Aptos dApps, which are applications that use the Aptos blockchain. It covers creating projects with Vite or Next.js frontends, Move smart contracts, and contract-only projects.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to scaffold full-stack Aptos applications or Move contract projects for devnet, testnet, or mainnet.
Why use it?
It gives a coding agent consistent steps for starting Aptos projects and choosing the same network across setup commands. It also highlights environment-file checks and optional API-key setup.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.02840 $0.02840
Opus 5 $0.01420 $0.01420
Sonnet 5 $0.00568 $0.00568
Haiku 4.5 $0.00284 $0.00284

Security

Grade C, and why

aptos-agent-skills CLAUDE.md scanned grade C with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Harvests environment variableshighData exfiltration

Enumerating or grepping the environment for keys collects credentials unrelated to what the mod says it does.

Project Scaffolding

Use npx create-aptos-dapp to start new projects. Ask the user which network (devnet, testnet, mainnet) before scaffolding, then use the same <network> value for both create-aptos-dapp and aptos init:

# Fullstack dApp with Vite (frontend + contracts)
npx create-aptos-dapp my-dapp \
  --project-type fullstack \
  --template boilerplate-template \
  --framework vite \
  --network <network>

# Fullstack dApp with Next.js
npx create-aptos-dapp my-dapp \
  --project-type fullstack \
  --template boilerplate-template \
  --framework nextjs \
  --network <network>

# Contract-only (Move project)
npx create-aptos-dapp my-contract \
  --project-type move \
  --network <network>

API Key: If the user has a Geomi API key, pass --api-key <key> during scaffolding. It's optional for devnet but recommended for testnet/mainnet to avoid rate limits. Get one at https://geomi.dev (create project → API Resource → copy key).

Post-scaffold checklist:

  1. cd <project-name>
  2. Verify .env is in .gitignore before any git operations
  3. Run aptos init --network <network> --assume-yes (use the same network as the create-aptos-dapp command above)
  4. Verify: npm run move:compile && npm run move:test
  5. git init && git add . && git commit -m "Initial commit"

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
