gamma-mcp-server: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

gamma-mcp-server CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from Arkava-AI/gamma-mcp-server. It costs 725 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of instructions for Claude Code in a Gamma MCP server project. Gamma is a service for creating presentations, documents, webpages, and social posts through an API, and MCP connects those functions to AI assistants.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when installing, building, or extending the Gamma MCP server, including tools for generating content, checking status, using templates, listing themes and folders, and sharing results by email.
Why use it?
It explains how the project is organized, how to build it, which tools it exposes, and which API key it needs. This gives maintainers the context required to work on the server correctly.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00725 $0.00725
Opus 5 $0.00362 $0.00362
Sonnet 5 $0.00145 $0.00145
Haiku 4.5 $0.00072 $0.00072

Measured 8d ago against content hash 2ed4005816b3, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-08, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

gamma-mcp-server CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Gamma MCP Server

Model Context Protocol server for Gamma.app. Exposes tools to create presentations, documents, webpages, and social posts via Gamma's API. Works with any MCP-compatible AI assistant (Claude Code, Claude Desktop, OpenCode, GitHub Copilot CLI, Gemini CLI).

Quick Start

npm install
npm run build

Set GAMMA_API_KEY environment variable to your Gamma API key (format: sk-gamma-xxxxxxxx), then configure your AI assistant to use the MCP server at dist/index.js.

Architecture Notes

  • GammaClient (gamma-client.ts) is the single API client — all tool implementations call through it
  • createGammaClient() (gamma-client.ts line 248) is the factory — validates key presence and format, throws with helpful message if misconfigured
  • Polling is handled inside GammaClient.waitForCompletion() — tools just set waitForCompletion: true to activate
  • Error handling is centralized in GammaClient.handleError() — status codes mapped to user-safe messages (no raw API data leaked)
  • Output formatting is stateless — formatGenerationOutput, formatThemesOutput, formatFoldersOutput, formatShareOutput in formatters.ts
  • All Zod schemas use .strict() to reject unknown fields

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
