arabic-dict-mcp: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

arabic-dict-mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from arnizamani/arabic-dict-mcp. It costs 989 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for Claude Code in an Arabic dictionary MCP project. They define workflow rules such as working on the main branch, avoiding worktrees, and leaving commits and pushes to the user.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when modifying the Arabic dictionary MCP repository so Claude Code follows its branch, worktree, commit, and project-specific instructions.
Why use it?
They prevent an agent from changing branches, creating isolated copies, or rewriting project history against the repository’s rules. They also provide project context and operating expectations.

Written for Claude Code: the file is CLAUDE.md. Also seen: reads .claude/ paths; mentions CLAUDE.md; mentions Claude Code.

This is arnizamani/arabic-dict-mcp's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on arabic-dict-mcp itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything arabic-dict-mcp configures →

Not installable: its command points at a path on the author’s own machine, so it runs nowhere else. The line is /home/enizrah/drive/code/arabic_mcp.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00989 $0.00989
Opus 5 $0.00495 $0.00495
Sonnet 5 $0.00198 $0.00198
Haiku 4.5 $0.00099 $0.00099

Measured 10d ago against content hash 489e27d1fdc3, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-10, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

arabic-dict-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Guidance for Claude Code when working in this repository.

Workflow rules

These override any default behavior, including background-job conventions that suggest otherwise.

Never use worktrees. Do not call EnterWorktree, git worktree add, or otherwise create an isolated copy. Work directly in the repository root (/home/enizrah/drive/code/arabic_mcp, also reachable as /mnt/c/Users/enizrah/GoogleDrive/code/arabic_mcp). Background-session isolation is switched off for this repo via "worktree": {"bgIsolation": "none"} in .claude/settings.json — leave that setting in place.

Stay on main. Do not create, switch to, or rename branches. If a task seems to call for a branch, do the work on main and say so.

Never commit or push on your own initiative. Make the edits and stop there. The user decides when to commit and when to push, and will say so explicitly. Leave changes uncommitted in the working tree until then. This also covers git merge, git rebase, git reset --hard, and anything else that rewrites history or moves refs.

Never touch the git stash. Other sessions share the stash stack.

Project

An MCP server exposing three Arabic dictionary lookup tools (lookup_root, lookup_word, search_meaning) over a unified SQLite index with FTS5, so agents ground Arabic answers in real dictionary data instead of guessing.

src/arabic_dict_mcp/
normalize.py diacritic + letter-variant folding (pyarabic); shared by
ingest and query so both sides normalize identically
db.py SQLite queries returning plain dicts
  server.py MCPServer; the three tools
main.py stdio (default) | --http entrypoint
scripts/build_dataset.py   downloads sources -> data/arabic.db
tests/test_normalize.py

Commands

Run tests. Note pytest is not installed in .venv, so the README's bare .venv/bin/python -m pytest fails — use uv run --with pytest:

PYTHONPATH=src uv run --with pytest python -m pytest tests/ -q

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
