vitest-auto-spy: Instructions file for Gemini CLI

GEMINI.md

vitest-auto-spy GEMINI.md is an instructions file for Gemini CLI from ASDAlexey/vitest-auto-spy. It costs 249 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A pointer file for Gemini CLI that tells coding agents to read AGENTS.md, the repository’s main instruction file.

In plain words
What is it for?
Directing agents to the project conventions, public API, error catalogue, recipes, required checks, and rules such as not committing or pushing changes.
Why use it?
It keeps Gemini CLI aligned with the project’s single set of rules instead of maintaining a second copy that could become inconsistent.

Written for Gemini CLI: the file is GEMINI.md. Also seen: mentions AGENTS.md; mentions Gemini CLI.

This is ASDAlexey/vitest-auto-spy's own configuration. It tells Gemini CLI how to work on vitest-auto-spy itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything vitest-auto-spy configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00249 $0.00249
Opus 5 $0.00125 $0.00125
Sonnet 5 $0.00050 $0.00050
Haiku 4.5 $0.00025 $0.00025

Security

Grade A, and why

vitest-auto-spy GEMINI.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

vitest-auto-spy — instructions for AI coding agents

Read AGENTS.md. It is the single source, and it is written for you.

This file exists only because the Gemini CLI reads GEMINI.md by default and treats AGENTS.md as opt-in (context.fileName in settings.json). Duplicating the content here would guarantee the two copies disagree within a release, so this one is a pointer and nothing else.

Two things worth knowing before you start, because they are the ones that cost time:

  • Never commit, push or tag. The maintainer does that by hand.
  • npm run check is the gate — deps:check, typecheck, lint, format:check, jscpd, llms:check, the sync checks, coverage at 100 % over src/lib/** and src/cli/**, the type tests, and the shared-env, zone, Bun and Bun-Angular suites. A change is not finished until it passes.

Repository conventions, the public API, the error catalogue and the recipes are all in AGENTS.md.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
