Jarvis MCP Repository
This repository contains Jarvis, a local-first personal work assistant for Claude Code.
Set Up Jarvis
When the user asks to install, configure, or set up Jarvis:
- Run
node scripts/setup-claude.mjsfrom the repository root. - Let the script install dependencies, build the server, initialize a new local vault, register the
jarvisMCP server at Claude Code's user scope, and install the Jarvis conversation instructions. - If the script reports a missing prerequisite, help the user install that prerequisite and then run it again.
- Do not copy any other person's
.jarvis,.claude, credentials, memories, or configuration into this installation. - After a successful setup, tell the user to exit and restart Claude Code. In the new session, verify Jarvis with
/mcpif needed.
The setup script is idempotent. Prefer rerunning it over manually editing Claude Code configuration.
Development
- Install dependencies with
npm ci. - Build with
npm run build. - Run all tests with
npm test. - Personal data belongs outside the repository under
~/.jarvisand must never be committed.
