mysql-mcp-server AGENTS.md

mysql-mcp-server AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from askdba/mysql-mcp-server. It costs 430 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Project instructions for mysql-mcp-server, a Go server that lets coding agents work with MySQL through MCP tools.

In plain words
What is it for?
Following the repository’s branching and worktree process, running Go builds and tests, checking integration paths such as SSH and Docker, and preparing changes for a pull request.
Why use it?
They define the project workflow and verification requirements so changes are tested consistently before review or release.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00430 $0.00430
Opus 5 $0.00215 $0.00215
Sonnet 5 $0.00086 $0.00086
Haiku 4.5 $0.00043 $0.00043

Measured 3d ago against content hash 47ef3edb7d3b, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

mysql-mcp-server AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Agent instructions

This file guides AI coding agents (Cursor, Codex, Copilot CLI, and similar) working on mysql-mcp-server.

Workflow

Follow workflow.md for branching, worktrees, multi-agent splits, verification, and how to finish work (merge / PR / cleanup). Do not skip that process because a change already exists on mainverification and finishing steps still apply.

Priority

  1. Explicit user or maintainer instructions in this repo (e.g. issue text, PR comments, chat) take precedence.
  2. Installed agent skills (for example the Superpowers plugin) override generic defaults where they apply.
  3. Otherwise use normal Go and project conventions.

Project basics

  • Language: Go (go 1.24+ per go.mod).
  • Tests: Run go test ./... before treating work as complete. Integration tests (make test-integration or Compose-backed targets in the Makefile) matter when you touch connection, tools, or Docker/SSH paths.
  • Scope: Keep changes focused on the requested task; avoid unrelated refactors.

Before opening a PR

Run CI parity commands in workflow.md (build, vet, tests, optional race coverage) so local results match .github/workflows/go-ci.yml and the QA unit job. After you push, Go CI and QA run on GitHub; address bot / automated review feedback when it flags real bugs, security issues, or regressions.

Superpowers alignment (summary)

When the environment provides Superpowers-style skills (using-git-worktrees, writing-plans, subagent-driven-development, dispatching-parallel-agents, finishing-a-development-branch, etc.), use them in line with workflow.md. Parallel agents are for independent subproblems; shared design or one root cause should stay sequential.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
