Project instructions for tsbootstrap, a Python library that creates resampled time-series data and recommends methods for analysing a series. They describe setup, checks, supported Python versions, and project conventions.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when changing tsbootstrap code, running its tests or quality checks, or working on its examples and documentation.
Why use it?
They give a coding agent the project context needed to make changes that match the repository's tests, formatting, type checks, and dependency rules.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00294 $0.00294
Opus 5.5 $0.00118 $0.00118
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00059 $0.00059
Haiku 4.5 $0.00029 $0.00029

Security

Grade A, and why

tsbootstrap AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

AGENTS.md

Minimal agent context for tsbootstrap. Full docs: README.md and https://tsbootstrap.readthedocs.io.

What it is

Time series bootstrapping. One entry point: bootstrap(X, *, method=...) imported from tsbootstrap. Typed method specs live in tsbootstrap.methods. diagnose(X).recommended_methods suggests methods for a series.

Setup and checks

  • Install: uv sync --extra dev (add --extra examples --extra docs for notebooks and docs).
  • Tests: uv run pytest tests/ runs single-process. Add -n auto --dist loadscope for the parallel run CI uses; addopts carries reporting flags only, never -n.
  • Lint and format: uv run ruff check . and uv run ruff format . (both gated in CI; run uv run pre-commit install once so commits gate locally).
  • Types: uv run mypy src/tsbootstrap and uv run pyright src/tsbootstrap.

Conventions

  • Python 3.10+. Model-based methods (AR/ARIMA/VAR residual, sieve) need the models extra; the uncertainty-quantification layer tsbootstrap.uq needs the uq extra.
  • No em or en dashes in prose. Conventional-commit messages, imperative mood.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
