claude-workflow: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

claude-workflow CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from AxGord/claude-workflow. It costs 1,369 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for a Claude Code plugin that coordinates AI-agent work through finite-state workflows. These workflows move through defined steps and can use automatic start and cleanup actions.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when working on the plugin manifest, MCP server, session hooks, workflow scripts, state transitions, or build and environment settings.
Why use it?
They explain the plugin structure and rules so changes preserve workflow state, limits, hooks, and the way the plugin is packaged.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01369 $0.01369
Opus 5 $0.00685 $0.00685
Sonnet 5 $0.00274 $0.00274
Haiku 4.5 $0.00137 $0.00137

Measured 6d ago against content hash 9bc70436e16c, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

claude-workflow CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

CLAUDE.md

This file provides guidance to Claude Code (claude.ai/code) when working with code in this repository.

What This Is

A Claude Code plugin that provides structured workflow orchestration for AI agents via finite-state machines. Bundles an MCP server + SessionStart/SessionEnd hooks. Agents call MCP tools (start, transition, etc.) to follow state-driven processes. The engine tracks state, enforces guards (max_transitions, max_visits), and manages nested sub-workflow stacks.

Transport: stdio. Packaged as a Claude Code plugin (.claude-plugin/).

Plugin Structure

Path Purpose
.claude-plugin/plugin.json Plugin manifest
.mcp.json MCP server registration (server name: wf)
hooks/hooks.json Hook declarations (SessionStart, SessionEnd)
hooks/workflow-start.sh Detects plan resume, context clear, or fresh start
hooks/workflow-cleanup.sh Abandons this instance's active sessions on session end, caps retained terminal sessions
scripts/ Shell scripts exec states run via the engine-injected $WF_PLUGIN_ROOT, plus check-skill-sync.sh (bundled-vs-live skill drift check; .skillsyncignore lists intentional divergence)

Tool naming: mcp__plugin_workflow_wf__<tool> (e.g., mcp__plugin_workflow_wf__start).

Dev-machine setup after clone: wire the drift check as a local git hook — printf '#!/bin/sh\nsh "$(git rev-parse --show-toplevel)/scripts/check-skill-sync.sh"\n' > .git/hooks/pre-commit && chmod +x .git/hooks/pre-commit — so a commit cannot ship a bundled skill snapshot that silently lags its live ~/.claude/skills/ copy.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
