azure-ai-travel-agents: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

azure-ai-travel-agents AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from Azure-Samples/azure-ai-travel-agents. It costs 6,425 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for Azure AI Travel Agents, a software system whose specialised AI agents help with travel tasks through several services. They document the codebase structure, architecture, conventions, tests, and contribution process.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when modifying, testing, or reviewing this Azure travel-agent project, including its TypeScript and Python services and their shared tool connections.
Why use it?
They give a coding agent the project-specific context needed to make changes that fit the existing services and development rules.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

Opus 5 $0.03213 $0.03213

Security

Grade A, and why

azure-ai-travel-agents AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Azure AI Travel Agents - Developer Guide

This file provides comprehensive guidelines for OpenAI Codex and other AI coding assistants working with the Azure AI Travel Agents codebase. It documents project structure, coding conventions, testing protocols, and PR guidelines to ensure generated code integrates seamlessly with the existing architecture.

Project Structure & Architecture

High-Level Architecture

The Azure AI Travel Agents is a modular AI multi-agent system composed of multiple microservices ("tools") with three standalone orchestration implementations:

  1. LangChain.js (TypeScript/Node.js) - Complete service in packages/api-langchain-js/
  2. LlamaIndex.TS (TypeScript/Node.js) - Complete service in packages/api-llamaindex-ts/
  3. Microsoft Agent Framework (Python) - Complete service in packages/api-maf-python/

Each orchestrator is a standalone service with its own Express/FastAPI server. All orchestrators communicate with the same MCP tool servers via Model Context Protocol (MCP).

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
