Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01782 $0.01782
Opus 5.5 $0.00713 $0.00713
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00356 $0.00356
Haiku 4.5 $0.00178 $0.00178

Security

Grade A, and why

setup-azd AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

About this repository

Azure/setup-azd is a GitHub Action that installs the Azure Developer CLI (azd) onto a workflow runner. The action is authored in TypeScript under src/, bundled with @vercel/ncc into dist/index.js, and published to the GitHub Marketplace.

Key files:

File Purpose
action.yml Action manifest. runs.using controls the Node.js runtime.
src/main.ts Action entry point.
dist/index.js Bundled output — committed to the repo and must stay in sync with src/. Enforced by .github/workflows/check-dist.yml.
package.json / package-lock.json Action version lives here (version field). Must match CHANGELOG.
CHANGELOG.md Release history. Append a new section at the top for every release.
README.md Marketplace-facing docs. uses: samples use the latest floating major tag.

General conventions

  • Never edit dist/ by hand. Regenerate with npm run all (or npm run build && npm run package) and commit the result.
  • Never pin uses: Azure/[email protected] in README.md. The public samples use the latest floating major tag so users do not have to update docs on every release.
  • Always rebuild dist/ when src/ changes. The check-dist CI will fail otherwise.
  • On Windows, prettier and ncc may rewrite line endings (LF→CRLF). If the only diff after rebuilding dist/ is line endings (git diff --ignore-space-at-eol dist/ is empty), discard the change — do not commit EOL-only churn.

Release workflow

This is the canonical procedure for cutting a new release. The matching Copilot skill lives at .github/skills/github-action-release/SKILL.md — invoke it when available; otherwise follow these steps literally.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
