darknet-mcp-server: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

darknet-mcp-server CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from badchars/darknet-mcp-server. It costs 336 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for a dark-web intelligence server: software that gathers security-related information from sources such as breach records, ransomware reports, and Tor sites. The server connects coding agents to these functions through 66 tools.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when developing or maintaining this TypeScript/Bun server, its 16 information providers, or its command-line build and development commands.
Why use it?
It gives contributors shared rules for the project’s architecture, coding style, optional API keys, caching, rate limits, and Tor access.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00336 $0.00336
Opus 5 $0.00168 $0.00168
Sonnet 5 $0.00067 $0.00067
Haiku 4.5 $0.00034 $0.00034

Measured 7d ago against content hash 7530a076e167, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

darknet-mcp-server CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

darknet-mcp — Dark Web Intelligence MCP Server

Overview

66-tool MCP server for dark web intelligence: breach data, ransomware tracking, Tor .onion access, malware analysis, blockchain intel, exploit search, stealer logs.

Architecture

  • Runtime: Bun 1.3.9+ (dev), Node.js (publish)
  • Dependencies: @modelcontextprotocol/sdk, zod, socks, socks-proxy-agent, cheerio
  • Transport: stdio only
  • Pattern: Each provider in own directory under src/, tools registered in src/protocol/tools.ts

Key Rules

  • TypeScript strict mode, English code/comments
  • Native fetch() for HTTP APIs; socks-proxy-agent + node:http for Tor .onion
  • Every tool schema field must have .describe()
  • API keys always optional — graceful error when missing
  • Rate limiter + TTL cache per provider
  • Import paths use .js extension (ESM)

Providers (16)

breach, intelx, ransomware, tor, abusech, otx, abuseipdb, greynoise, pulsedive, hudsonrock, vulners, blockchain, hybrid, onionlookup, phishing, meta

Commands

bun install # Install deps
bun run dev # Dev mode (watch)
bun run build # Build for npm
bun run src/index.ts --help # CLI help
bun run src/index.ts --list # List all tools
bun run src/index.ts --tool <name> '<json>' # Run single tool
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
