Self-Improving-Obsidian-LLM-Wiki: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

Self-Improving-Obsidian-LLM-Wiki AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from Bahgs/Self-Improving-Obsidian-LLM-Wiki. It costs 427 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of instructions for an AI agent maintaining an Obsidian knowledge wiki. Obsidian is a note-taking app that stores linked Markdown files; these rules separate original evidence from generated wiki content and define related workflows.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when editing or analyzing this Obsidian wiki, including its Markdown notes, structured views, visual canvases, or imported web content.
Why use it?
Knowledge wikis can become unreliable when source notes are changed or generated summaries are mixed with evidence. These instructions establish how information should be organized before durable changes are made.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00427 $0.00427
Opus 5 $0.00214 $0.00214
Sonnet 5 $0.00085 $0.00085
Haiku 4.5 $0.00043 $0.00043

Security

Grade A, and why

Self-Improving-Obsidian-LLM-Wiki AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

LLM Wiki Agent Instructions

This vault is an Obsidian-friendly LLM Wiki. Before making durable wiki changes, read schema/AGENT.md and follow its raw/wiki/schema separation rules.

The operating principle is:

  • raw/ is immutable evidence.
  • wiki/ is generated synthesis.
  • schema/ is the evolving operating system.

Use the visible skill documentation in Skills/ when the task matches a skill:

  • Skills/obsidian-markdown/SKILL.md for Obsidian markdown, wikilinks, embeds, callouts, and frontmatter.
  • Skills/obsidian-bases/SKILL.md for .base files, table/card/list/map views, formulas, filters, and Base validation.
  • Skills/obsidian-cli/SKILL.md when interacting with a running Obsidian instance or verifying plugin/theme behavior through the Obsidian CLI.
  • Skills/json-canvas/SKILL.md for .canvas files, visual canvases, and JSON Canvas graph work.
  • Skills/defuddle/SKILL.md for extracting clean markdown from web pages before ingesting or analyzing web sources.

The hidden .agents/skills/ directory may also exist as an agent-runtime install location. Treat Skills/ as the human-visible copy inside the vault and .agents/skills/ as compatibility infrastructure.

Required Workflow

For INGEST, QUERY, LINT, or AUDIT, read schema/AGENT.md first.

For substantial source ingests, also read:

  • schema/evolution/ingest-rubric.md
  • schema/evolution/output-quality-rubric.md
  • schema/evolution/extraction-patterns.md

Never modify files under raw/ unless the user explicitly asks for source-archive setup or organization.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
