Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.02081 $0.02081
Opus 5 $0.01040 $0.01040
Sonnet 5 $0.00416 $0.00416
Haiku 4.5 $0.00208 $0.00208

Security

Grade A, and why

yt-media-info-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

yt-media-info MCP — Agent Guide

Quick start

npm install
npm start # stdio mode (for Claude Desktop)
ENABLE_SSE=1 npm start # SSE mode (Express on :9423)
npm run dev # nodemon auto-restart
npm run lint # ESLint flat config

Architecture

  • Single ESM package ("type": "module"). Entrypoint: src/index.js.
  • Wraps the Python yt-dlp library via a persistent FastAPI HTTP service (yt-dlp-service), not via docker run --rm. The service imports yt-dlp once at startup and caches extractors.
  • Two transport modes controlled by ENABLE_SSE env var:
    • stdio (ENABLE_SSE=0, default): connect via StdioServerTransport — used by Claude Desktop.
    • SSE (ENABLE_SSE=1): Express on YT_MEDIA_INFO_HOST:YT_MEDIA_INFO_PORT (default 0.0.0.0:9423). Endpoints: GET /sse, POST /messages, POST /api, GET /health, GET / (cookie upload form), POST /upload-cookies, POST /delete-cookies.
  • POST /api is a shortcut that calls the Python service directly for a specific tool (bypasses MCP protocol). Usage: { "tool": "extract_info", "args": { "url": "..." } }.
  • Three MCP tools: extract_info, get_transcript, search_media.
  • Two MCP prompts: analyze_video, summarize_transcript.
  • Optional bearer API key auth (via YT_MEDIA_INFO_API_KEY env var) protects HTTP endpoints in SSE mode. stdio mode is unaffected.
  • Docker Compose deployment: two containers (yt-dlp-service + yt-media-info-mcp) on a bridge network with healthcheck + depends_on. No host Docker socket mount required.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
