AGENTS.md

mobile-pilot-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from bidouilles/mobile-pilot-mcp. It costs 616 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A repository instruction file describing how the mobile-pilot-mcp Python project is organised, built, tested, and formatted.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when developing, testing, linting, or understanding the structure of mobile-pilot-mcp.
Why use it?
It gives coding agents the project rules and commands they need to make consistent changes.

Instructions file for CodexOpenCode

Written for Codex and OpenCode: the file is AGENTS.md.

This is bidouilles/mobile-pilot-mcp's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on mobile-pilot-mcp itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything mobile-pilot-mcp configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00616 $0.00616
Opus 5 $0.00308 $0.00308
Sonnet 5 $0.00123 $0.00123
Haiku 4.5 $0.00062 $0.00062

Measured 7d ago against content hash 0d77760e800b, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-08, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

mobile-pilot-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Repository Guidelines

Project Structure & Module Organization

Core Python code lives in src/mobile_pilot_mcp/:

  • server.py: FastMCP server and tool registration.
  • simulator.py, wda_client.py, ui_tree.py: simulator control, WDA API, and UI parsing.
  • dashboard.py and templates/dashboard.html: local monitoring UI.

Operational scripts are in scripts/ (setup.sh, start_wda.sh, run_server.sh, test_install.py). Docs and reference assets are in docs/.

Build, Test, and Development Commands

  • python3 -m venv venv && source venv/bin/activate: create/activate local environment.
  • pip install -e .: install the package in editable mode.
  • pip install -e ".[dev]": install development tools (pytest, pytest-asyncio, ruff).
  • ./scripts/setup.sh: one-step prerequisite check + local setup.
  • ./scripts/start_wda.sh <UDID>: launch WebDriverAgent for a simulator.
  • ./scripts/run_server.sh: start MCP server from local source.
  • python scripts/test_install.py: smoke test imports, simulator discovery, and WDA health.
  • ruff check .: run lint checks.

Coding Style & Naming Conventions

  • Target runtime: Python 3.10+.
  • Follow Ruff settings from pyproject.toml (line-length = 100, rules E,F,I,W).
  • Use type hints and from __future__ import annotations for new modules.
  • Naming: snake_case for functions/variables, PascalCase for classes, UPPER_CASE for constants.
  • Keep modules focused; avoid mixing transport, parsing, and simulator orchestration logic in one file.

Testing Guidelines

pytest and pytest-asyncio are configured, but the repository currently uses scripts/test_install.py as the primary verification path.

  • Add new tests under tests/ with names like test_<feature>.py.
  • Prefer async tests for WDA/simulator flows and keep external dependencies mocked when possible.
  • Run python scripts/test_install.py before opening a PR; run pytest when test files are present.

Commit & Pull Request Guidelines

Recent history follows Conventional Commit types, often with an emoji prefix (example: ✨ feat: ..., 🐛 fix: ..., ♻️ refactor: ...).

  • Keep commit subjects imperative and scoped to one change.
  • PRs should include: purpose, key changes, verification steps/commands, and related issue links.
  • For dashboard or UI behavior changes, include a screenshot or short recording.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
