Build and Development Commands

This is an iOS application built with Xcode. Use standard Xcode commands to build, run, test, and verify changes when working in a macOS/Xcode environment:

Build: Open BisonNotes AI.xcodeproj in Xcode and build (⌘+B)
Run: Build and run on simulator or device (⌘+R)
Test: Run unit tests with ⌘+U
Clean: Clean build folder (⌘+Shift+K)

In Linux cloud sessions (no Xcode), the SessionStart hook prepares a Swift toolchain in Docker in the background (each check command also starts it if it is not ready). Run .claude/swift-check/swift-check.sh parse (syntax of files changed vs origin/main), typecheck, and test [filter] before pushing Swift changes. Only Foundation-only sources type-check and run there (FOUNDATION_SOURCES in the script); anything using SwiftUI, UIKit, CoreData, CloudKit, AVFoundation or MLX is parse-only and still needs an Xcode build.

The project uses Swift Package Manager for dependencies, including Textual, FluidAudio, and MLX Swift for content rendering, transcription, and on-device AI.

The app has migrated from legacy file-based storage to Core Data-only architecture. All data is now managed through Core Data entities:
